Comments: Hildebrandt blades are #1, hands down. Hildebrandts produce much more vibration and resistance than other blades, mostly due to their shape. They "turn harder", faster, than others.
I started using Hildebrandt blades when I was in my early-teens, because I happened to have a few Hildebrandt spinnerbaits, and took those blades off to use them on spinnerbaits I preferred.
Hildebrandt Willows are more teardrop-shaped, front half being more blunt and tapering to the aft end of the blade, when other willows are widest in the center and both ends are tapered almost exactly.
These willows, due to their design, turn very fast, and don't spin on an axis like most other willows. Instead, the aft end spins on a much-wider arch than the front end does. Hildebrandts are also almost flat.
I use a single #3 willow on 1/8 oz., single #3.5 willow on 1/4 oz., and single #4 willow on 3/8 oz.
I'll put a #3 on a 1/4 oz. if I want it to run deeper or so I can burn it.
