Overview

Perfect for a variety of light line applications, the Jewel Baits Ned Head excels when the bite is tough and you need to downsize your offering. Specifically designed for the rapidly growing Midwest Finesse Technique, the Ned Head is built with a mushroom-style head that mates seamlessly with almost any soft plastic stick bait and provides a textbook Ned Rig presentation. It also features a super sharp and super strong 1/0 hook, which provides lightning fast hook penetration and the power needed to land lunker-sized bass.

The Ned Head comes equipped with fully coned bait keeper as well that holds your soft plastic securely in place without the need for super glue, so you can spend more time to fishing and less time hassling with re-rigging. Complete with an extra durable, hammered powder-coating finish, the Jewel Baits Ned Head is the jighead that all Midwest Finesse anglers have been waiting for.

Objectively bad, subjectively goodThese are objectively bad but subjectively good. The actual quality isn't great: the hook is just okay and the baitkeeper (which is a piece of lead molded onto the shank of the hook) will frequently come loose and wiggle around. Put these heads next to your other Ned heads in the tackle box and they have a shoddy and home-made feel to them - particularly for the price! And yet... This Ned head has a nicely organic quality to it. It's not as glossy as others, and while the paint on the head will chip, it's not as noticeable as on other heads. The baitkeeper works well (particularly for non-TPE worms) because it's non-destructive - you might just have to superglue the keeper back into place. The hook does its job and I've caught a bunch of fish on these head. On one of these 1/8oz heads, the whole rig looks simple, natural and effective. It's a reminder of how simple Ned rigging can (and should!) be. No worries about the hook bending out, either - Ned rigging is a light-line technique, and complaints about a Ned hook bending out on 17lbs line mean somebody isn't using their Ned rig as intended.

Comments: caught a bunch of slab crappie on one of these in the fall and just caught my new pb bass boat flipped it and all  and still did not even bend it out fantastic head

Comments: This Ned jig head with 1/0 hook has been a good alternative to the original Z-Man for strength and durable finish WITH ONE EXCEPTION. Had a problem in the fall in cold water, 44 deg. The jig got snagged on a branch and it bent out a little on 17# mono when I pulled it free. Went to reshape the hook and IT SNAPPED AT THE BEND. Maybe the forged hook got brittle in the cold water. Never had it snag in warmer water. Not sure if I would buy again.
