Comments: Tried these hair jigs in the 1/4 oz. Didn't really care for them. Paint chips and the marabou comes off the jigs pretty easy. I would spend a little more on some better quality ones.

Comments: This bait gets bit at a high rate, my issue for awhile was not feeling the smallmouth actually pick it up because i was throwing it on straight fluoro. Once I switched to a 6'9 ML w/ 8 lb braid to a 6 lb fluoro leader, I was able to get a hook in them. I have never needed to add a piece of stick bait to the back, but I know many people choose to in order to add weight for casting distance. There's no wrong way to fish a hair jig, just experiment with pendulum retrieves, crawling the bait, or short-hopping it w/ a heavier headweight. You probably won't catch many largemouth because of the size and minimal action, but massive smallmouth will pick it up.
