Overview
LIGHTER THAN AIR. HOW FISHING SHOULD FEEL.
Stripping weight to increase sensitivity. Average only 3.5 ounces! It's what gives the Kistler Helium Casting Rod its name.
Kistler’s flagship rod at its core doesn't just "get the job done" but makes every cast and hook set feel effortless.
When your mettle is tested and you're competing for #1, the Kistler Helium Casting Rod gives you all you want and need in a fishing rod: lighter than air responsiveness that gives you every advantage over the next best angler.
Built on KISTLER KC9 Extremely High Modulus Blanks - 100% Japanese Carbon by Toray.
A dental surgeon requires a fine instrument to do his delicate work, the Kistler Helium blank is a fine instrument, meant for the most delicate of bites. A surgeon does not use his fine instrument to chisel, hammer or pull teeth, he uses a different tool for that.
Metallic blue on navy blue thread colors. Bold in its simplicity, our most popular rod to-date makes the Kistler Helium Casting Rod a stunning example of how peak performance and beautiful design really does define the way fishing should feel.

Comments: Many, many years ago I bought on of the original Kistler Helium LTA rods and was very impressed.....well built, light and powerful.....a great rod. A few years back I bought a Helium 3 which was built on the North Fork Composites blank. I still own and use this rod just about every time out into the marshes of the gulf coast.......excellent rod from stem to stern. Kistler has once again changed things up with a new Toray blank and a 1-7 power rating system. In the last several months I have purchased two new Heliums, both 1 power rods, one spinning and one casting. The 1 power is perfect for tossing 3-4" paddle tails on the salt flats, absolutely perfect. I also bought a 1 power Z Bone, very similar to the Helium but very much lighter weight and it's my go-to for the flats. Ordered a 3 power Z Bone as well and this is my surf rod, casting 3/8-5/8oz jigs and spoons from the rock groins along the Galveston beachfront.......this rod is perfect for the application. In my experience with rods from St Croix, Loomis, Castaway, Fenwick and others, Kistler builds a very good product that I have found no fault with over many, many years use.

Comments: They stopped using NFC blanks, and now are using a mystery blank, then raised the cost $50. Kistler jacks up their prices, then has ridiculous sales on their site. These sticks should cost $250. They feel ok, and still have the basic no nonsense build. I don't think they have the sensitivity of the NFC versions. Get IMX-Pro, save some money, and call it a day.

Comments: 100 percent worth the price point. Paired with a SLX DC 70 and it throws plastics miles far. It's also very sensitive, I can feel even the slightest bit of grass on any bait I'm throwing. I've used it only once so far from shore but I'm really impressed with its performance, it's definitely everything I've been looking for in a medium stick.
