Overview

A prime target for most freshwater predators, the Threadfin Shad is an abundant and widely dispersed forage, making the LIVETARGET Threadfin Shad Swimbait a lethal choice during the spring shad spawn, in the summer when shad school-up, and during the fall in the backs of creeks. Anatomically accurate, the LIVETARGET Threadfin Shad Swimbait features a lifelike tail that produces an uncanny swimming action.

Designed with a number of performance-enhancing features, the LIVETARGET Threadfin Shad Swimbait is molded with a realistic dorsal fin that acts as a weedguard and reduces hang-ups. Internally, the LIVETARGET Threadfin Shad Swimbait is precisely weighted to deliver a perfectly balanced presentation. Complete with an accessory pin along the belly for easy hook and blade attachment, the LIVETARGET Threadfin Shad Swimbait is a must-have for swimbait enthusiasts.

LIVETARGET has combined nature’s best with modern technology to create an exciting new collection of swimbaits. Available in common forages, the new LIVETARGET Swimbait Series is designed to look and swim just like live bait. The profile of the body and tail is so accurately matched and anatomically scaled, it sets a new industry standard to match-the-hatch. The tail is precisely fitted with a strategically engineered oscillator that generates a side-to-side tail swing action. Every swimbait has its own signature action, making it come alive and swim just like its natural counterpart.

Comments: Caught my PB on this within 10 mins. It's was 7.45lb'r. Was borderline burning it back to me parallel to the bank right in front of a drain. Highly recommend to others

Comments: Awesome bait. I've caught more largemouth, smallmouth, and stripers on this than I can count. People complain that the tail doesn't have any action. It has a NATURAL swimming action. The tail movement is very subtle, just like a real Shad. When have you ever seen a real Threadfin with a wide kicking tail?

Comments: I purchased several lines of these lures from the large trout, Shad, sucker and the gill. Three common faults in all the baits were smell, action, and durability. I found solutions to all three. The smell was soooooo overpowering that I didn't even throw it the first time I had these baits. So I got a tubaware filled it up with water, then put two tablespoons of garlic powder and let them sit overnight. Came out MONEY and it wasn't strong enough that it stank my box up. The action is great but there's so much more potential to these baits for they are literally the closest thing to live bait. So I dipped them in boiling water for the appropriate time per bait ( bigger baits 12 seconds and smaller 10) the third is the durability. The eyes on these things come out QUICK! So I just got a hot glue gun and put a light layer over the eyes and they haven't came out yet and I've probably caught 20ish fish on the shad one! Hope this helps!!!

Comments: Bait smells like chemicals which i believe makes the fish not want to bite it, i've thorwn this at every lake and pond i go to and nothing will bite, action isn't all that great for a 10$ swimbait. and the bites i have had seems like the hook up ratio isn't all that good either. i think what will make this bait better is to use some scent and a treble hook on the bottom.

Comments: Have not caught any fish with this bait yet,but if the paint smell is strong take it out of the package and lay them out on a flat surface after a few days the paint off gases and they do not smell like paint any more. Also turn them over both sides have to off gas.

Comments: I love this Swimbait! I caught my Personal Best with this! Only bad thing is the smell which a little bass attractant oil will fix. I use this in a creek behind a river and have constant bites. I would recommend this Swimbait to someone who wants fast action and good tail movements.

Comments: every time i went out to fish for bass i would bring this lure i cast it like 30 times around the lake and come back with 8 pounders you really should get this

From: oliver: 1/7/18

Comments: Decent looking bait but it has an INCREDIBLY strong chemical scent.. Haven't fished the bait yet but if making a bait perfectly anatomically correct is such a big deal don't you think the scent should at least be neutral instead of smelling extremely unnatural? And I am NOT exaggerating in the slightest when I say this bait reeks of chemicals. Don't believe me? Pick one up and give it a sniff.

Comments: I've had this lure for 3 days and I couldn't be happier. At a amazing price this lure just catches fish. I bought this and the first day got 10+ hits but got a little excited and just could not seem to land many. I only landed 2 the first day and decided to put a treble on the bottom. After 23 fish with it with only around 11 hours of fishing in a regular old pond it out produced everything else. Slowing down my hook set and using a treble really will land you most of your bites. The treble doesn't get in their gills either which is very nice. I could not recommend buying one more while they are cheap. It has a amazing tail action that is very life like and fishing this in ponds without shad and still getting as many fish as I did I'm very impressed.

Comments: LOOOOOL Can't believe someone said this was premium priced. The price point on this bait is killer. Not to mention the tight tail rock on this thing draws in some serious thumps. One thing I can reccomend is bending the hook up a bit, before then if I swung and missed a fish I would let it fall to the bottom and "THUUUUMP". Durability is pristine with these, surprised they didn't come out with a gill series, I'm sure that's next.

Comments: I am happy to see someone had some success with this lure . I cannot say I shared the same experience with my purchase of this lure. On my recent trip to Toledo Bend with great excitement around the shad bite and the purchase of three of these lures expecting to maybe be broken off or snagged it was with great disbelief the lack of swimming action at any speed of retrieve of this beautiful painted and molded lure . There was zero action or vibration in the swimming action . This is my first ever post , so if you do select this premium priced lure maybe one at a time is best . Hopefully it works for you because my other LiveTarget purchases have been marvelous.

Comments: I was actually wondering if this bait was actually going to work for a person that has never thrown a swimbait before and it exceeded my expectations. The colors that they have chosen for the baits could be better but they still work. They swim true out of the box and have a great hook. The only bad thing that I found with this bait is that it smells like stray paint when you take it out of the package. But it is an overall great bait.

From: Nathan: Lake in the Hills, IL 1/3/17

Comments: Absolutely great bait! Was fishing in a farm pond catching a couple 3 pound bass and one 8 1/4.  Fish were always interested in the bait.  Though the high price may be a deterrent, I would highly recommend an investment in this lifelike swimbait.
