This has replaced 95% of my frogsThis is not just a gimmicky bait, it is an incredible topwater hollow body frog style bait. Its very soft, it has thicker hooks, but because of nano coating which so many frogs STILL dont use, they penetrate like a much thinner hook. Due to the hooks and the very easy collapsing plastic, the hookup ratio is nothing short of fantastic. The only frog ive ever used with better hookup ratio is the scum frog launch, but it is too soft to fish through most vegetation and fills with water easily. Oh and maybe the evergreen jdm frog with a single hook on back… it has pretty great hookup ratio… it might be my favorite hollow frog of all time, but most ppl in the usa will never see one or use one. But this mouse does just fine in most vegetation and it takes a while to get any water in it, and it walks crazy great. It has replaced most all my other frogs, I have great confidence in it.
Yes, the fur comes off after some fish catches or some hard use….. but who cares. Its possible the fur helps them hold on a bit longer, but I doubt it. I still catches them fine without the fur.
If you are worried about the color when fur comes off—The fish only see the underside of the bait anyways, you can color it if you want, but honestly it doesnt matter…. The fish eat a frog because of the movement, disturbance on top of the water, etc. I believe color doesnt matter at all….. maybe in very specific circumstances color might play, but i’ve tested it on topwater before. i was fishing schooling bass and i switched from white topwater to a black one and they ate them both good. Plus bass don’t see color like we do at all. I think all the color schemes in baits catch more anglers than they do fish. most of what fish see are just shades, so a light color and a medium color and a dark color is fine for underwater baits, maybe something with stripes if forage has stripes, etc. Sight is NOT one of the primary senses bass use to hunt, they use scent/taste, but mostly they use feel and vibrations. Sight is last on the list, so color matters very little. Point is, even if fur comes off, its still a great bait and still catches plenty of fish.
The moose is the juiceSo I bought a few to try I fish a frog all year I figured they'd be good around docks. When they came in I was super impressed by the hardware talk about extra beef. I bought the 3" and won a tournament on it. They went on sale for $5 and I cleaned TW out i bought 35 yes 35. Tested all the sizes and colors even mini mouse walks and casts like a dream. So the fur wears off, buy yourself some oil based paint markers from Amazon and carry on. Just wish the fur lasted longer is all.
BarnburnerGreat bait, realistic. Good walking action. Doesn't fill up with water, like other weedless frogs. You'll still have to squeeze it, every once in awhile. Fur falls off in patches. Where the fish strikes and where the hooks touch. Got to be careful. With long or all day use, fur will fall off. Especially if it brushes with rocks, logs, or reeds. This lure is not good with wear and tear. Definitely have to be gentle with this bait. For a weedless bait, it's pretty delicate.
Bass enjoy a juicy mouse1st time using it today, and caught a nice bass...SMASHED it! Floats real well, walks easily, big strong hook, casts like a bullet.....do have to squeeze a little once in awhile, no big deal...did super glue the tail as a preventive measure...overall, did what I want from a hollow body...looks about as real as it gets, too....I'll be getting a few more
Realistic touch but 1st catch -doneI like the amazing realistic touch and feel one of the reasons I brought it. But it should’ve just came painted. The 1st catch it was finished all that cool frizz came right off. So so disappointing, my field mouse isn’t even brown anymore it’s white.. I mean it works it really does , the movement, the retrieval, the bites.. I literally got it yesterday in the mail, used it today 7/31/24 and it looks like I had it for a year !! Wtf Lunker unreal.. Great idea but a waste of time, energy and effort. I should box it up and send it back. I’m going to just get it custom painted and the nearest Mall.. A airbrush artist that does T-Shirts could have done a better job.. smh
