Overview

Reinforced with X10 finishing wrap that extends from the rear grip to the mid-section, the Megabass Orochi X10 Spinning Rods feature proprietary organic fiber construction that exhibits several unique characteristics to provide finesse fishing advantage. Built using flax cellulose microfibrils that create the structure of plant walls, the X10 emerges as a viable carbon fiber alternative in select applications due to its superior damping and shock-absorbing characteristics. The X10 Orochi is lighter than its carbon counterpart, and the organic material suppresses unwanted axial shake to reduce extraneous “noise” and channel key information to the angler’s hands for a quicker blank recovery and reduced angler fatigue.

Leveraging the ultra-lightweight carbon graphite of the DESTROYER series, each blank is produced with a special composite method to deliver the kind of sharp sensitivity and crisp control that has led to legendary outperformance. Enabling a direct and intuitive connection between the angler and equipment, the Megabass Orochi X10 Spinning Rod is wrapped around a high-performance core coupled with superior damping control for an immaculate finesse fishing experience.

IES Reel Seat
The fast-back design of the reel seat bridge fits deep in the palm of the hand, providing increased contact points to improve feel and control in spinning applications. The IES’s sweeping, tapered foregrip allows direct contact with the exposed blank, enhancing the kind of delicate bite detection that is required in deep finesse fishing.

Orochi Aluminum Machine-Cut Hood

The head-locking mechanism is machine-cut from a solid block of high-grade aluminum, delivering uncompromising strength and rigidity. Machining expertise has enabled a lightweight, high-strength design that's finished with weight-saving cutouts and shallow knurling for enhanced grip.

OROCHI X10 Original Tight Threading
The masterful threadwork of the OROCHI X10 is a functional artistry unique to Megabass. Elegant tourmaline-green base threads made of fine, semi-transparent fibers are finished with lustrous and tough monofilament Air Force Scuro thread accents to create an exceedingly tight and secure guide threading.

MedusaAs in the title I got the 6’11” Medusa. As with all Megabass rods it is beautiful. Well made and has a very good balance. It weighs 3.94 ounces. In comparison a 6’11 megabass p5 Landsat weighs 3.53. I’m a P5 guy but gave this rod a shot because of the solid tip and WOW. Tip is ridiculously soft. But in a good way. Fish bite and they don’t feel me. I can see the tip bend ever so slightly. It’s a light action rod but it’s mostly the tip. The backbone comes in about 12” down and from there the action is precise and predictable.Very sensitive rod. Very happy with this rod.

611 MedusaI picked up the Medusa a couple weeks ago for a new drop shot rod. The sensitivity is absolutely mind blowing compared to a normal Orochi or Levante. The rod has no problem flipping 4lb fish in the boat although it’s an extremely soft rod. However, the downfall with the rod, is when you put your hook on the keeper, the tip will bend ALOT. This ended up causing my tip to snap right under the top eye loop. Got ahold of mega bass warranty and they’re taking care of it. I will continue to buy these rods.

IncredibleGot the Medusa spinning mainly for a dropshot and bottom contact rod. Incredibly sensitive and light. Can feel everything on the bottom. Very good at detecting subtle bits on finesse applications including the occasional senko. Rods are made from a new organic fiber material though so they are a little softer than you might anticipate but rod has done amazing for me for finesse. I do not have a P5 destroyer but my buds who have fished both have said this orochi is pretty close! 10/10
