Overview
Designed closely with 4-time Bassmater Angler-of-the-Year, Kevin VanDam, the Mustad KVD Elite Series 1X Triple Grip Hooks deliver the ideal balance of hooking and holding power. The unique shape of the hook is intended to "lock" the fish into the elbow bend, making it harder for the fish to throw the lure. The design also widens the hook gap, and angles the hook points more toward the shank. This provides an optimal angle for maximum impact and penetration, while also making the hook less prone to snags.
An excellent option when added strength is needed on larger baits, and where hook tangling is not an issue, they feature Mustad's 1X strong wire for excellent power and a standard length shank. The standard length shank increases the distance between the hook points and the lure body, raising hook-up percentages. Comments: I have never had problems with these hooks. They are called triple grips for a reason. I have used these for years(2). I can't think of any fish that I have lost do to the hooks themselves. I live in Tennessee and the biggest spotted bass is just over 6 pounds. I don't know of a better treble hook to use. The previous reviewer states that he lost a 7 pound spot with these hooks. The biggest thing to remember is to match the rod, reel, line, terminal, and drag to whatever you are fishing. I caught multiple 5 pound plus smallies on these hooks and landed all of them. Great hooks
