Overview
The Nichols Lake Fork Flutter Spoon is offered in four fish catching colors. "Shattered Glass Holo Silver" "Shatter Glass Silver Scale" "Bar Fish" and "Blue Shad" project a reflective scale and sparkle finish. Reflective mylar flash comes hand tied to an ultra sharp treble hook for extra bass catching appeal.
Fitted with Spro Power Swivels for increased performance, the Nichols Lake Fork Flutter Spoon is a bass magnet that will gain any fish's attention. Fishing the Flutter Spoon on slack line is very important to its success. Limp or slack line gives the Flutter Spoon its natural fluttering action, similar to a dying shad that provokes the instinctual feeding mechanism.

Great Spoon, Poor HooksI have won a lot of money with these over the last 3 years. This is my go-to bait from May to November. When fished right, they are deadly when targeting schools of bass. There was a year or two period in 2021-2023 when they came packaged with a gray 3x strength hook. I never had an issue with the hooks bending out. And I never had an issue with poor hook-up rate. However, last year Nichols decided to go back to a weaker hook (Decoy brand), and now I lose fish all the time, because the hooks are bending out soooo easily! Almost every fish over 3 lbs that I hook, whether I land it or not, the hooks are bent. I have been in contact with the owner at Nichols, and they have no plans to go back to the stronger hooks. I told him I can't believe other people aren't complaining of this issue, because it happens so easily. I would simply order some 3x strength hooks and change them out myself, but I truly believe the biggest factor in getting bites with this spoon is the "flashabou" on the hooks. I can't tie these on myself. This has been maybe the most frustrating thing in fishing for me in the last several years - to have a bait that you know will get bit very consistently, with the knowledge that you never used to lose fish with the old hooks, but now losing them all the time because the hooks bend!

Comments: I purchased several of these spoons in the 1 1/8oz size. I like the color selection and the action of the spoons when they sink. The factory hooks are strong and hold up well, however, the split rings are horrible, they oxidize and rust after the first day of use. I've upgraded the split rings and also added some stinger hooks to a few of the spoons. These spoons work great and will get bit right out of the package, however, a few minor upgrades may better your chances of landing a big bass.

Its so good it should be sold out often - home run in the visual effects to draw bass & stripers in from far away .
