Overview
Built with Okuma’s Precision Elliptical Gearing System, the Okuma Ceymar Tactical Spinning Reels provide a completely level line lay by regulating the speed of the spindle stroke to wind line more consistently and uniformly on the spool. Consistent line lay creates less friction during casting for increased distance, greater accuracy, longer line-life, and smooth uniform drag pressure. Designed to create a ‘cyclonic’ airflow through its ported rotor, the Ceymar Tactical reels allow for a faster drying time when the spool gets wet to greatly improve corrosion resistance.
Fitted with lightweight EVA handle knobs for a comfortable non-slip grip, the rigid metal handle also provides maximum stability and balanced retrieves. The Rotor Equalizing System incorporates a computer-balanced weight placed precisely on the rotor to eliminate spool wobble and provide smooth cranking. Made with a machined aluminum anodized spool and heavy-duty solid aluminum bail wire, the Ceymar Tactical provides lightweight durable performance. A great choice for the angler on a budget, the Okuma Ceymar Tactical Spinning Reels deliver balance, smoothness, and power at an affordable price point.

Comments: Big fan of this reel. Very compact in size. The size 1000 handled a king salmon in the Salmon River in Idaho for me, when I didn't plan on seeing one of those. The drag held and adjusted nicely with the fish on. Everything about it seems sturdy as well. Quality parts are seen upon getting inside of it.

Comments: I use the 500-model on a 5 1/2 ft ultralight rod. The reel is very compact, and the bail is very beefy - should stand up to getting banged around. The drag is very smooth. The bail does actually distribute the line winds more evenly than some reels, which means very smooth/long casts, and more line on the spool. (I got about 140 yards of 8lb braid on it.) Never purchased Okuma before, but very pleased so far; well worth the 60 bucks.

Comments: I purchased the 500 size reel for a custom 5'6" Phenix Elixir ultralight spinning rod I built. It's a perfect match! The reel is built like a tank. I have it loaded with 2 lb Trilene and it works great on those Western Maryland trout - especially when i fish for them during the Summer when the water is low, the trout spooky, and the lures are very small. My favorite part of the reel is the bail which is thick and large. I normally close the bail by hand (as you should always do to prevent line twist) with my reeling hand. With this reel I can close it with my casting hand just by flicking the bail closed with my pointer finger. It's so easy to do and saves time. Love the reel!
