Not this oneBuy a Pflueger cause there awsome just not this one. Ok mine wasn’t to good and after a year it started back winding and making snuggles in the line and the reliability became sketchy. Hey don’t buy this one but you should 100% buy a different reel from Pflueger. The president XT is a very good reliable accurate amazing reel. So buy a President XT just not the supreme. That’s all to be said. Hope this was helpful.

Many problems but..I am a person who doesn't have tons of money and can’t buy a bunch of 300 dollar abu stuf not that I don’t own any. ANYWAYS if I put 130 into a real I saved and it’s a commitment IT LET ME DOWN! The real dosent have a solid backstop if you real back it wil randomly spin either way(the handle) and then lock up the next second and the drag wears out in a year :((

I've Bought My Last PfluegarI was a loyal Pfluegar Supreme buyer for many years....no more. I bought my last one when they eliminated the reverse switch. I use that all the time. Why are mfgs cutting cost by eliminating this essential part? Same goes for Shimano as well.

Cuts lineSmooth and tight. BUT!!!! Happened 3 times in one day. Where the bail wire meets the bail roller boss is a sharp wedge that will cut the line when casting. Super bummed. Only used it one day and now don’t have any faith in it. It’s now just a backup reel on a spare rod

Expected betterAfter 2 years with this reel paired with a medium light for finesse rod, i expected better performance especially for $130. Main problem is the anti-reverse going out. After a month of light use, the anti-reverse slips about half the time. I tried fixing it, but to no avail. Also the bail spring will not lock completely open, causing it to shut mid cast. Not sure if i got a lemon, but the reel has caught good fish and is smooth. Stick to Daiwa or Shimano. Much better for the price after I started buying them.

Comments: I have several of the older Supreme reels, so I was anxious to try the new one. I bought one in the 35 which I spool up with 8-pound Trilene XL (No, you don't need braided line with a fluorocarbon leader). I really like the reel and might even buy another. But I miss the switch on the back for backreeling. This should not be considered an old-school technique. Secondly, they cut a lot of spaces out of the spool and also the body underneath the spool to make it lighter. This will let dust, dirt and water creep into the shaft area over time. The current trend to make everything incredibly lightweight is affecting the quality of our reels in some cases. It did spool up evenly when I filled it, and it might be a little quieter than the older model.

Comments: Have had mine for a few months and although I havent used it extensively (ice season is in effect) I have still been able to pull in some nice bass with this sucker. Its light, and the handle grip is new and improved (over the previous generation). Outside of that, its very reminiscent of the previous generation overall - which is NOT a bad thing!
