Perfect BFS rod. It's amazing!I got the 6'8 BFS rod and it's my favorite rod. I pair it with a Tatula 80 (modified for BFS) and the balance of this combo is so amazing. It feels like it just float on your hand. The tip of the road is truly soft where you can easily throw 1g to 7g. It can handle 10g no problem too which is the weight I prefer for dropshotting. Best part is this rod makes fighting crappie and big bluegills very fun. And if you happen to hook a big bass, it can still handle it no problem, it just feels like a monster on the end of your line. So I would highly recommend this rod for anyone who enjoys catching fish with light tackle, just remember to treat the rod with extra care and not try to hoist the bass onto a boat, use a net instead to land.

Love these BFS rods - highly recommendI own a 6'8" and a 7'4" Phenix BFS rods. The use the 6'8" for 4 gr. jerk baits and it is effortless to work the bait for hours. The 7'4" works great for all BFS hard baits with treble hooks and for weightless Flukes or Slim Senko. Love these rods , great quality and value.

Awesome Phenix Classic BFS rodsI own the 6'8" and 7" 4" models for about 30 days and fished at least 14 days. These rods are super light, sensitive and handle BFS fishing well. I am using 3/32 to 1/8 baits and they are amazing. The C68 I am use for Jerk & Crank baits and the C74 for Swimbaits, Flukes, Slim Senkos and Free rig. Using one with Aldebaran BFS and the other with ABU Garcia Revo X BFS Reels.

Saltwater BFSThis rod has handles gator trout and over-sized redfish on the Texas coast very well. I run 6# nylon or fluorocarbon on a Shimano Calcutta BFS with a 10-12# leader for more abrasion resistance at the business end, tossing 1/16oz jig heads with various soft plastics. The length at 7'4" allows for good distance with light baits as the rod loads very well for casting. Very light weight for such a long rod, it's comfortable all day. The tip is quite soft, an effect shock absorber for light line, but there's plenty of backbone to hang in there with the saltwater bruisers I encounter. Fit & finish is good. My only issue is the lack of a hook retainer, not a deal breaker however. Very good rod for a fair price.

Great rod, poor quality controlDubbed a cheaper P5 clone, it definitely lives up to the name however this comes at the cost of quality control. Noticeable misalignment with the guides unfortunately is not something I can overlook. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Comments: Have been fishing the 6'8" for a little over a week. The rod looks very sharp and the fit and finish is excellent. I have been using PE .6 braid on it and can literally bomb casts. The rod loads very well using 3-6 gram baits. I have not gone lower than 3 yet. My main observation is that although the rod is rated as extra fast, it definitely feels on the slow side of fast as compared to most of my JDM BFS rods. Working small jerkbaits and JDM trout minnows produces quite a bit of tip bounce and the rod is slow to rebound. This also shows up a bit when fishing various bottom contact baits in that the hookset is not extremely fast and crisp. Sensitivity is good though. For me the rod excels at moving bait applications.

Comments: I have a Dobyns Sierra & Trout rod, which isn't the best for targeting panfish since it tends to rip their lips. It's more of a BFS bass rod than anything else. This one from Phenix seems to do a better job of not putting holes in panfish mouths, and it's doing better for treble hook baits. It feels a tad bit more sensitive than the Dobyns too. I'm using this to target panfish, but it still feels more like a bass specific BFS rod than anything else. It looks a lot like the Megabass P5 Destroyer Siglett, has the same lure, and power/action ratings. I'm not sure if Phenix was trying to give us mid tier guys a Megabass like BFS rod, but I'm loving the aesthetics and fishability of this rod. This is my first rod from Phenix and it's leaving a good impression. We'll see how it holds up overtime, but right now I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
