Comments: Good rod. Problem is warranty. Within a couple of trips with the rod the second from bottom guide popped straight off. Literally right off the rod like it was only held on with a dab of super glue. Called to have it repaired and they said I can send the rod in (which would cost over $100 to ship) or I can purchase a new guide and pay to have someone repair it near me. So essentially the warranty covers a rod defect, only the rod, not anything else that makes a rod like guides, handle etc (straight from Phenix). If that defect does appear your stuck paying for the shipping and if it's anything but the rod itself your paying for everything. Not satisfied with the companies service. Blank is great but you can get it with several other companies that have much better warranties and service.

Comments: Super nice rods. Bought the MH model. The ratings are pretty accurate considering that Phenix is usually pretty off with their ratings. The MH rod rated for 1/2-3 oz, and based on my experience with it, I was able to throw 2.5 oz pretty comfortably. Anything heavier will definitely be overworking the rod. For the length, its super light. Super balanced as well. Although the handle is bare, it does have a grippy texture to it (much different than the front portion of the blank). Guides are strong and not too large. Perfect for leader knots. The bend of the rod is fair. Not as soft as Dobyns, but it does have a good parabolic bend to backbone ratio. Only con is the hook keeper. A tad bit too small for larger hooks (6/0s Beasts are what I usually use).
I Would recommend if you're throwing lighter swim baits. Can easily switch from 1/2 oz bass swim jig to a 2.5 oz swimbait in a pinch.
