Overview

The Plano Atlas Tackle Pack is the result of an ideal collision between a hard-sided tackle box and a portable soft-sided tackle bag. It’s designed for the angler who demands maximum storage and protection for their gear but needs that storage to be as mobile as they are. The Atlas relies on premium EVA construction with a sturdy, waterproof HDPE base to deliver a serious dose of durability that is built to last. Further bolstering its defensive properties is the water-resistant cell phone storage pocket that shields your phone and other valuable electronics from boat spray and unwanted moisture.

Forged from the foundation up to enhance your fishing experience, the Plano Atlas Tackle Pack offers several features anglers are sure to appreciate. The top of the Atlas Pack is crowned with Plano’s patented magnetic Dropzone, integrated to catch and hold your crankbaits, tools, or other items that need to be set down in a hurry. Bungee cord rod holders and a pair of tool holders are incorporated into the face of the pack for quick access while on the move. Finished with padded shoulder straps and generous back padding for maximum comfort, the Plano Atlas Tackle Pack redefines the industry standard for premium mobile tackle storage.

Comments: Plano Atlas is super sturdy with tons of outer storage and a huge inner compartment that fits4 3700 boxes if stuffed. 3 fut comfortably. I keep 3 Buzbe 3600 boxes laying flat inside with 10 inches of space above them. Sunglasses and neck gaiter in the zippered under lid net pocket. The 3 outer zippered pockets can fit 3500 boxes, i store pliers, KVD spray and Mend-it on one side, soft plastic pouches in the other 2. The materials and fit and finish are great. The pack does stand on the hard rubber base on sand or rocks. It can be a bit tippy tho. It weights about 7 lbs before gear, once I put my gear in for the day, it weighs just under 14 pounds which is easily carried by the pack and me. It carries high on your back which I like. It could get very heavy if you carry alot of gear tho. The carry straps are super sturdy and well padded also adjustable. The part that rest against your body is also well padded. It has a blue carry handle which si strong. It does have plier and one other tool storage on outside. The magnetic drop zone on top is handy to hold hooks, lures and pliers while retying. The rod holders are bungee which can be pulled tight to secure a single rod. I prefer a strap with a pocket to rest the rod base in such as the TW backpack has. Overall I like it a lot, it should last years with regular use. occasional cleanings will be needed as outside is light gray. Is it worth $240 tho?? NO! Should be in the $150 range.

Comments: After using it for an entire season as a Co-angler I would recommend this as a good travel/co/shore bag. I carry x4 3600 edge boxes that fit perfectly in the bottom (terminal, jig/frog, jerkbait/other long baits, cranks/traps/misc). This leaves the top half for bags of soft plastics or whatever else you want to bring. I'll separate my plastics into like bags (worms, crawls, swimbaits). The inside top compartment is perfect for holding all your commonly used bags of plastics. The front compartment is big enough to hold all your accessories like a balance, pliers, ect. Side comparts hold all my miscellaneous (leader spools, clamshell baits). I thought the top magnet would be a little gimmicky but I use it often. It will hold pliers strongly and most hooks strong enough between bait changes until I put them back in their place (don't put them in the mesh bags see below) Negatives: All the netting material in the top compartment and front compartment are hook magnets and should be made out of rubberized netting. Don't put your free hooks in those areas and forget letting trebles get near them. Second, there are no real good attachment points for cull tags but this was solved by using two carabiners on one of the shoulder straps. Even with the formed base and all my heavy boxes in the bottom it tips fairly easy. These last two are just nitpicky but the cloth mesh compartments are the only real fail IMO. Overall it's a good box but is pricy. I picked it up on a sale and happy with it for the price. Holds plenty of gear for a co. If they would change the netting material I would probably upgrade to it but I've learned the hard way how to manage it.

Comments: Ok so I've had and used this for now for several months, mostly small boat usage but a few shore outages. This backpack is large and can fit a TON of stuff. I have one of the 3700s that came with it (cheap) and three other brand 3700s (higher end, waterproof etc) loaded vertically in the main storage. They are can come in and out without needing the others to come out. They don't take the full width, so I sneak a 3600 down the side next to them. The backpack also has extra height over the 3700s and I can fit another 3600 on top of them. This doesn't interfere with the flip top zipper compartment for me. In there I store frequently use items like leader line, braid scissors, etc. It's a trade off though, I do use some of that capacity for the top 3600. Ok, that's it for the main cabin. The side and front pouches are nice. The sides share a little space with the main by way of a flexible wall. If you don't cramp as much in the middle as I do, your sides will have more room. I have them set up to take the smallest Plano spinner box (says fits 6), a multi tool and some knocker style lure retrievers on the first side. The opposite side has a Duo Realis jerkbait box. It's a perfect fit for the 140mm width size. In the front pocket, I have a scale, grippers, gloves and room for more. Bottom line this thing has tons of room. The magnet zone on the top is amazing. Most of my day my scissors live there. The magnet is strong and they don't get dislodged. I use the other side (it's two pieces of round magnet) to dry lures before I put them away. I love the magnet zone, such a great idea. The straps are comfy and have adjustments. I haven't walked really far with it yet but I bet it'd be fine for longer walks. The tool attachment and rod attachment are also included. I have a very long set of needle nose pliers in the tool slot, but I don't use rod bungies. Maybe someday. The only downsides are the 3700 boxes that are included are cheap and the price. I use one of the 3700s but they aren't waterproof and latches are kinda chintzy. The bag at $230 or whatever it is now is pricey. I ordered it during Black Friday sales for 20% off and my total was $180. In summary, this is a fantastic bag and I am quite happy I bought it. I'd recommend people look for coupons as the regular price is steep.
