Comments: Quantum did a great job with this real. It's smooth and has a good drag system. For the price of the reel you can go wrong. It looks sleek, but also performed like a $129 reel. I have thrown Abu Garcia reels and Lew's reels in the same class as this one and this one out performs them both by a long shot. I can cast at least 3 feet farther and when fishing covering more water per cast is the biggest advantage an angled can have. Quantum is very underrated and I'm switching to their reels exclusively.

Comments: I really wanted to like this reel. An $80 reel with a 5 year warranty is outstanding and shows the commitment Quantum has to quality. This reel may last 5 years however its just not good. To be fair it is a budget reel and I will review it through that lens. The reel feels excessively heavy, the drag essentially has to be locked all the way down to prevent slip during hook sets, the spool tensioner seems to be inconsistent from cast to cast, and the magnetic brake doesn't seem to do much of anything. When comparing it to another budget reel such as the Abu Max ($69), the Max feels better and casts better.
