Overview
Built to pursue 'lightness' while incorporating plenty of finesse elements, the RAID Japan Ghost Wire 5 Arm Umbrella Rig features an innovative wire construction and a host of blades that accurately mimic a school of small baitfish. The Ghost Wire achieves its ultra-lightweight construction with a 1.2mm main wire and sub arms that use a thinner 0.9mm wire that supports dead-slow retrieves and allows it to drift through the water column.
In addition, the Ghost Wire is equipped with lightweight resin blades on all wires except the main arm, which rotate quickly and continue to spin even at dead-slow speeds, making it easy to maintain the natural horizontal posture of a swimming fish. The synergistic effect of the fine wires and resin blades lets the Ghost Wire maintain your desired depth and reduces the risk of snagging, even when shore fishing where you reel from deeper to shallower areas. Including a compact carrying case for easy storage and transportation, the RAIN Japan Ghost Wire 5 Arm Umbrella Rig allows anglers to recreate schools of small fish with versatile rigging methods to suit the field or situation.
Included
Rigging Methods:
Shad Umbrella Specification - By placing a shad crank in the center, the quick action, buoyancy, water displacement, and flashing create a lively, vibrating movement that mimics a school of small baitfish.
Bamast Specification –Remove the blades from the outer wires, and pair with RAID Japan Fish Roller Jerk Minnows, or remove all the blades to incorporate teasers or more hooked baits. This setting maximizes the effectiveness of the Ghost Wire, which is specialized for "lightness" and "slow drifting in the water."
Manufacturer hook recommendation:
FISH ROLLER 3" - Recommended Hook: RAIDJAPAN/BAMASTO HOOK
GAMAKATSU/HORIZON JIG HOOK #2 or SOARINROLL #1/0
FISH ROLLER 4" - Recommended Hook: RAIDJAPAN/BAMASTO HOOK
GAMAKATSU/HORIZON JIG HOOK #1 or #1/0
**Don't forget to check your State's fish and game rules and regulations - a fully rigged umbrella rig is illegal in some States**
Precautions for Use: The Ghost Wire prioritizes "lightness" and "slow drifting in the water" and uses a thinner wire than conventional umbrella rigs. Repeated bending and straightening of the wire, or repeated use with heavy lures attached, may cause metal fatigue and breakage, so please use with this understanding. The same applies when catching many fish.
- When bending the wire, do not bend it forcibly by hand, but use pliers or similar tools.
- The blade is made of resin. It may break if subjected to strong load or impact.
- To prevent damage and breakage as much as possible, avoid lifting the lure out of the water when landing it, jerking the rod to try to free it from snags, and slamming the lure into the water.
