Overview

Built with a buoyant body that allows it to free fall in a completely horizontal position, the RAID Japan Osakana Slide 170 Swimbait is a jointed soft swimbait that pursues a reaction effect with quick sliding action and speedy dynamic movement. Designed to support a wide range of retrieve speeds from dead slow to high-speed reeling, the Oskana Slide 170 has a semi-lip shape lower jaw that firmly captures the water to suppress lift and prevent it from jumping out onto the surface of the water.

Equipped with a line-thru rigging system and custom assist hook with integrated swivel, damage to the swimbait is prevented on a heavy hookset, and the swimbait slides up the line to prevent fish from gaining leverage to throw the hook. Available in bright or natural color options to meet the need for all types of water clarity, the RAID Japan Osakana Slide 170 Swimbait includes a nail sinker pocket in the abdomen so you can control the range depending on the mood of the fish.

Would Recommend
Confidence builderThis to me is a great glide bait to get familiar with swim baits. I don't throw a lot of big baits. I am interested in them and I do have some but I always find myself resorting back to the Osakana slide. You can straight retrieve it slow and fast. You can do great glides with it with quarter turns. You can even do slow little bumps while you're reeling in slow and don't forget the dead walk, it does a great dead walk. Out of all the big baits I've used this one's the only one I've caught fish on really. And I've caught numbers. I've caught some really big ones. I've caught some pounder and a halfers. So yes, can't believe I'm leaving this review but I would recommen this to anybody who is interested in trying to build confidence in there. They're big bait fishing.

Would Recommend
Ruined normal glide baits for meI would say I'm something of a connoisseur for glide baits, but this little thing really changes everything for me. The softness of the plastic (especially compared to that imposter Berkley created) really gives it such a life like action that is extremely hard to match with hard glide baits, and it surprisingly goes through floating debris like pine needles quite well. Will definately stock up on more soon. And to the guys at Raid Japan, PLEASE make a larger size soon.

Would Recommend
Worth the MoneyVery fluid and effortless glide to this bait, much more lifelike than any hard glide I’ve thrown. Skips very well too. Only thing about them is after a good day the hooks wear the plastic out too much and they’ll come loose every few casts. Mend-it helps. Worth the money no doubt, action is unmatched.
