Overview

Originally released in the 1960’s, the Rebel Humpback Crankbait is back due to popular demand from anglers across the Country. The legendary Humpback Crankbait provides a one-of-a-kind tight wiggling action that dives down to 1-foot, which is perfect for swimming over the top of vegetation or other shallow water cover.

Outfitted with sticky-sharp treble hooks and premium split tings, the re-released Humpback is a bait you’ll always be able to count on when the fish are shallow.  Available in a range of classic baitfish-emulating colors, it’s time to rejoice that the Rebel Humpback Crankbait is back and here to stay.

Comments: Some old timer once told me these were great... and I kind of wrote him off because I was using fancy new cranks (Spro, Lucky Craft, etc.) Then I got the urge to fish when visiting my homeplace. An old humpback was the only crank available. I tied it on and SPANKED the smallies! It's really lightweight. When it hits the water, it makes a splat sound that kind of reminds me of the sound of a weightless soft plastic hitting the water. It's an inoffensive and organic sound. On the topic of sound, this bait has no rattle. I had great luck throwing this in clear fall streams just before the leaves started falling. I guess it's a finesse crank? As long as these are the same as the old ones, they're great baits at any price... and they're cheap!

Comments: I was surprised to see Rebel bring these back. I used to catch tons of bass on these as a kid, but had lost them all over the years. I tried out a few of the new ones in silver/black and craw colors. It has the same medium wide wobble and catches fish like crazy just like the old ones used to. Same as before the hooks are only OK, but what a great bait. Fish is slowly on 6-10lb line and you will catch bass, bluegill, pike and crappie with it.

Comments: I ordered one of these to try out.  Would not dive correctly at any speed retrieve.  I tryed her out on 5, 6 and 7 speed reel...no difference.  I guess I could have had a dud but with the barrage of baits available within this genre of baits, I will probably just keep it movin.
