Overview
Designed by BASS Elite Series pro, Russ Lane, the SPRO Russ Lane Fat Papa 70 Squarebill Crankbait took the proven body profile of the original Fat Papa crankbait series and turned it into an all-terrain, square bill, shallow-diving machine. Delivering a custom balsa bait style action, the Fat Papa 70 Squarebill is extremely buoyant, which allows it to float up and out of snags and hunt like old-school balsa crankbaits. Unlike old balsa crankbaits, however, it still provides the durability of modern injection-molded crankbaits.
Featuring a circuit board, square bill construction that produces a tight wobbling action, it also allows anglers to bounce the Fat Papa 70 Squarebill off virtually any type of cover and generate deadly deflections that shallow water bass can’t resist. To help increase your hook up and landing ratios, the Fat Papa 70 Squarebill is outfitted with premium Gamakatsu Treble Hooks and also features custom color ways designed by Russ Lane to ensure your rod stays bent. Ready to fish right out-of-the-package, the SPRO Russ Lane Fat Papa 70 Squarebill Crankbait delivers shallow water cranking performance tournament anglers will appreciate.

Comments: This is my all time favorite crankbait! You can use it in just about any condition. The only downside to this crankbait is the bill, SPRO needs to make the bill thicker or something, I've noticed that it breaks really easily when fish hit it. Caught a 6 lb the first time I used it and she broke the bill on impact.

Comments: These are my new go-to for squarebill cranks. They swim down into the strike zone quickly and have a great action to them. I also love that they weigh a 1/2 oz. It allows you to launch them far and cover a lot of water. These cranks also come with great stock hooks. You'll pay more for these than something made by Strike King or Berkley but they are well worth it. Cast them up around laydowns and weed lines, give them an erratic retrieve, and you'll be swinging on 'em in no time.

Comments: I won several of these in a social media contest hosted by Russ Lane and cannot be more impressed with them. They are tough, deflect well off of anything they hit and they hunt like a squarebill should. Another great bait from Spro and Russ.

Comments: Quickly becoming my go-to squarebill; great bait like all of the Spro crankbaits. I've caught some big fish on this bait and the hooks are great. It's nice buying a crankbait that already comes with great hooks.

Comments: This lure flat out catches fish, And is a great addition to the tackle box. The Colors and realistic features make it a real fish catcher. I was surprised to find that It works really well in pressures ponds, and even an unfished lake. I believe that if you have this money to spend, this is what it should be for. I have caught my PB on this lure, A hard Fighting 7.8 pounder. Amazing construction, high quality coloring and hardware, make for an amazing hookup ratio. Thanks for such a great lure, and a great fishing experience. I definitely recommend this lure, to anyone and everyone looking to enhance their tackle arsenal, or even for a beginner to become an experienced angler. However, There are some cons. Sometimes it˙s not very durable, for instance, intense hook sets sometimes can rip the area around the hook, but usually this is a rarity. Also, if i˙m ripping the lure for pond fish, it doesn't always stay flush, and has a proper action, but overall, I think if you˙re looking for something like this, this is the best.

Comments: I got one of these baits at the classic, fished it this past Monday after the weekend fishing pressure and was able to pick up quite a few fish after I worked over a area with a different squarebill. This bait has a unique and wide wobble it also deflects off of cove very well

Comments: I finally got to use the FPSB on Lake Conroe last weekend and wow! I love the Little Fat John's, but these really deflect off of cover and back up a little when stopped. These are like the old balsa Bagley's with the finish and durability of a SPRO crank bait.
