Amazing ReelSmooth spinning reel, feels more expensive then the actual price, i have 2 now, 2500 and a 3000 and both amazing

Shimano MiravelTo start off this isn’t a terrible reel and feels smooth out of the box, but when retrieving lures putting the reel under load it has a thudding feel and not smooth at all and makes it hard to feel bites. I guess I’m spoiled from fishing with stradic ci4s and vanford but this is something shimano should fix. As of right now if you’re on the fence about buying this or a vanford, I highly suggest the vanford much more solid, smoother, and lighter well worth the extra $120.

Unreliable dragDecided to try Shimano products after years of not using them. Purchased one reel to test last year. Drag is absolutely unreliable. Sometimes free spools without any changes made to settings. Minor adjustments can cause drag to over tighten. Fish losing machine.

Overall GoodI have a plenty of experience with Shimano reels and I bought this one because it was lighter than Nasci but cheaper than stradic. Best way to describe it is that it feels like a lighter stradic. I believe best reel in this price range, I used to think Fuego was best budget reel, but the Miravel takes the cake. My only gripe, after about 1.5 seasons of hard fishing it was worn out... It doesn't hold up like the vanfords or stradics....similar to fuego in that aspect. Hope this helps.

Baby VanfordI bought a 2500 Miravel and can’t find one thing to complain about honestly. The drag is fine, reel is smooth, but the main selling point is the weight. It’s right in between the Stratic and Vanford weighing 7.2 ounces. Highly recommend trying one out if you’re on a bit of a budget.

Tremendous ReelTremendous reel! Smooth and light is the best way I can describe it. I don't like heavy spinning reels so I normally only buy 2500 size reels. With the Miravel, I would happily use a 3000. I have mine paired with a Powell Endurance 703. Shimano hit it out the park with this one. It makes all my other spinning reels feel like junk, lol.

Great reel at the price pointI love this reel, it's worth the price I have never had any issues with it.

Rock solid finesse beastIt's a poor man's Vanford. You get most of the technology for a fraction of the price. No problems, as suggested. I fish some nasty creeks, swamps, sloughs, ponds, and a regular trip to Lake Fork and Sam Rayburn. This reel has taken a beating. Dropped in mud, dropped in 30 ft of water, dropped from two stories by my 2yr old, and stepped on my fishing buddy. Caught a 7lb bass with her on 10lb braid to 6lb leader, never flinched. She hasn't failed yet. You're going to have a few lemons in a bunch if you search hard enough. I'm plenty satisfied with the performance and durability. I can't believe all the mishaps I've hard with her, but she's the reason I continue to buy Shimano. Let the haters hate. Go buy one!!!

Wind knot machineI have never had a reel have so many wind knots. I close the bail manually, i pull the slack thight. It's on a gloomis rod every 15 to 20 cast wind knot horrible highly do not recommended.

Comments: Purchased 2 of these reels. One is worse than the other but one of them is un-usable. The drag works when I leave the dock then stops working (just free spins) 20 minutes into fishing. Throw in the back of the boat, check it periodically and it starts working again hours later. The most UNRELIABLE reel I have ever owned.

Comments: Girlfriend picked up the 2500 for my anniversary gift and it's easily become my new favorite finesse reel. Paired with a med fast 6th Sense MFer rod I can't be happier. In the past month I've landed a handful of angry 5lbers and dozens of dinks and this reel is still performing as great as the day I got it. Also the drag on this reel has already outperformed some of my higher end reels that I won't go and name lol.

From: Matty: Tucson, Az 6/29/23

Comments: I'm experiencing a hard knocking at the top of the oscillation that is very distracting. Can't even tell if I'm getting bites or if it's the stupid reel. Took it apart and everything is as it should be by visual inspection. Called Shimano and they want me to mail in an essentially new reel, and pay shipping both ways because it's just outside the 30 day period where they cover shipping (ND ice kept me from using it until I was outside the 30 day window...). Super displeased!

Comments: Knocking sensation when the spool reverses course. Pretty disappointing that a brand new reel of this price is giving me trouble.

Comments: This one is a homerun from Shimano. I love my Stradics and Vanfords but for about half the price the Miravel is hard to beat. Fairly lightweight, buttery smooth drag, and just a pleasure to fish with. Bought a 2500 and paired it with a Dobyns Kaden 712 medium light spinning rod. Very versatile finesse combo, wacky rigs, drop shot, neko rigs, shaky heads, etc. Can't recommend this reel enough.

Comments: This reel is a $200+ reel for a sub $150 price. I like it better than my Stradic. Pairs well with a Medium Light rod. Go to for a Dropshot or Ned Rigs.
