Comments: These pliers are pricey but worth the money IMO.  When you first pick these up you know they are a quality tool and they function so much better than the cheaper models.  Easily gets the split rings open without needing to get it started with your finger.  Buy once for a premium price but will last for many years.

Comments: Best pair of split ring pliers I've ever owned, and i've owned a handful of them. It is lightweight and doesn't require you take a treble hook to the finger before you can actually sink the teeth into the split ring. The blade near the screw is razor sharp, great for cutting braid or any other fishing line. You get what you pay for.

Comments: Finally an easy to use SR pliers.  I've got 3 others that all require me to open the split ring with my thumbnail before they work.  I'm buying another pair for the boat.

Comments: I have used some of the cheaper pliers and even some that I bought from a lure parts manufacturer and this Shimano split ring pliers are far superior. The problems that I have with other pliers is that the split ring tends to ride over the chisel end and get stuck while attempting to insert the ring. This does not happen with the Shimano split ring plier. I have used it on 10# rated little split rings without a problem. I have also used them on Owner hyper wire split rings from size 2 to size 8 without any difficulty. I use them constantly to replace spinner bait swivels all the time. The price is worth it! I have a tendency to misplace these pliers and leave them in my boat or tackle box, so now I have bought three of them so that I will always have one close by.
