Overview
Completely redesigned from front to back, the new Snag Proof Phat Frog features a flatter profile to help it track smoothly through the weeds with legs that are set farther back for improved hook-up ratios and terrific walkability. Built with a new injection process each Phat frog is made with a consistent shape and super soft hollow body, so they collapse easily to expose the razor-sharp hooks. Snag Proof’s new machine welded line tie eliminates the gap that previously existed, so there is no chance of losing fish from slick braided lines slipping.
Engineered with a rear button weight to keep the frog in a heads-up position, the Phat frog always has the optimal posture to produce maximum action and the weight will never fall out. An innovative water evacuation system naturally expels any water infiltration during a cast for unbeatable buoyancy and consistent performance. Designed and created in the USA by internationally renowned and award-winning lure designer Andrew Gardner, the Snag Proof Phat Frog is available in new paint designs that cover 360-degrees of the frog body so every angle the fish can see is covered.

Comments: The issues with the frog has since been addressed and fixed. They never need squeezing, and the colors are awesome. Bass destroy these frogs. Buy some. They are my favorite frogs now and you won't be disappointed.

Comments: So far so good. Been throwing this on the delta. Looks good. Hooks are amazing. Body softness is great. A little stiffer than the sum frog but still in the world of frogs extremely soft. Threw it all day today and never had any issues with it taking on water, sinking or other weird stuff like others claim. I really like this frog. I like it a tad more than the scum frog which is also quite nice. It walks very easily. In terms of durability. Yeah it aint going to last as long as a medium or hard frog but it's going to catch more fish so...

Comments: I wanted to love these new frogs. But after using them I am disappointed in them. Sure the new color schemes and designs look awesome. But that's it. The previous design I didn't have to squeeze out water. Ever. Using these new ones I have to keep squeezing out water. If I don't then the frog starts to sink and it's upright and not flat. Very annoying. With the previous design sure the frogs look ugly and goofy but they were so effective. Yes, I did catch fish with these new ones but the design flaws annoy me. May have to use my previous ones for now.

Comments: This frog has extremely good hookup ratio but these frogs will only last a handful of outings. All the ones I have, the weight has fallen out and the paint flakes off really easily. Will not buy anymore, I have other frogs that will last many seasons.

Comments: Look...Snag Proof used to make the greatest frog ever created, and I just cannot understand why they've stopped. Sure, it was ugly as can be, and looked like a 1st graders art project, but the original Phat Frog is leaps and bounds above any other frog ever created. I am down to having a very small hand full left these days, and some of them have undoubtedly caught over 100 bass, but continue to work flawlessly. The OG was easy to walk, had the best ever hook up ratio, NEVER filled with water, and was extremely durable. Please bring the original Phat Frog back. Heck, just bring it back in the all black color. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Impossible to improve upon something that was already the best!

Comments: This frog has been excellent. SP went through a tough time there for a bit but they're back. Bought a hand full of these when they first dropped. Been throwing the same one since and it has 70+ fish on it with plenty of life left. I'll retire it when it no longer floats. They hit this one out of the park.

Manufacture Update: I was just reading some of the comments about the Phat Frog, and would like to give some insight. I'd like to apologize for the sinking issues on some of the 1st gen Phat Frogs. The water EVAC hole located behind the rear button weight is supposed to be 2mm in width, however during curing, some of the EVAC holes decreased in size, therefore now allowing any water that has accumulated in the hollow body, to escape. During R and D, we weren't having this issue, however some of the manufactured frogs had this issue. It has since been addressed at the factory. This happened to a couple of mine also, so I used a drill bit ( by hand) to remove a bit of the plastic in the EVAC hole, to enlarge it. This has fixed the issue for me.
Again, I'm sorry you have to use this modification to alleviate this issue.
Some of the other modifications we've made are;
- New blueprinted link designed to alleviate tearing at the hook.
- New link also keeps the hook from rotating on the body, and secures the nose from sliding down the link
Myself and American Baitworks are working daily to improve EVERY aspect of the Snagproof line of baits. With mass manufacturing, unfortunately issues are going to arise. When this happens, American Baitworks will exhaust all resources to correct the issue. We appreciate your support of the Snagproof brand.

Comments: I really like the action of this frog and the colors are really nice, but they definitely have some flaws. The two biggest being, Hooks get stuck on any vegetation around and you have to squeeze them every single cast or they will sink straight to the bottom worse than any frogs I've ever used (I have used and tested over 60+ frogs) I was really hoping to find a good secondary go to frog after the Launch frog but unfortunately these might sit in my box unused because they just don't perform above Any other frog

Comments: This is an awesome frog, that has been truly consistent for me.

Comments: Over $10 a piece.. returned 2 out of 8 for being ripped on the bottom by the hooks...was sent 2 new ones to replace those...1 of those 2 also ripped on the bottom...would not recommend this new version

Comments: I've tried multiple Phat frogs and they have one major flaw. Whether on the cast or working it through/on cover this frog will flip and get snagged up. Extremely frustrating! Hard to believe this wasn't an issue during testing.
