Overview
Legendary professional bass angler, Kevin VanDam, spent a considerable amount of time designing and fine-tuning the original HC Square Bill. The all-new Strike King KVD 1.5 Hard Knock utilizes the same proven size and shape as the original, but now with a hawg-calling Hard Knock rattle system. Delivering exceptional erratic action with wandering and searching motions, they are perfect for enticing bass holding shallow.
The thin, yet durable squarebill design grabs water immediately to plunge it to the desired depth while also helping to generate lively deflections off cover to trigger bass into attacking. Available in a range of proven fish-catching colors, the Strike King KVD 1.5 Hard Knock brings the same outstanding performance as the original, now with an aggressive Hard Knock to call fish in and incite a feeding frenzy.
Strike King | Length | Weight | Depth |
KVD 1.5 Hard Knock | 2-3/4" | 3/8oz | 3-5ft |

Comments: I like the way they run straight and true. I can run them through all kinds of brush without hanging up too. They really catch fish!

Comments: I caught my personal best crappie on this while fishing for bass in the pond. Hooks must be upgraded, which is a hidden cost, but an otherwise good lure.
From: Unknown: 9/17/23
Comments: Runs true and is fish catching machine. The only negative thing I can say is that the square bill is pretty brittle, as I have broken several when casting a little too close to cover.

Comments: I took my daughter and nephew for a weekend trip. They caught over 70 bass in two mornings of bass fishing with the KVD 1.5 hard knocks and the KVD 1.5 silent. I suggest having both.

Comments: Runs true and deflects off cover very well. Love fishing this in the spring across the South! Great lure for the price.

Comments: Stained water anywhere with shad the gizzard Shad color absolutely kills. Matches those 2-3 in. Shad very well. I've caught a 7 on it, seen it catch a 9 and a buddy caught a 14 on Lake Conroe with one. All on the gizzard Shad color.

Comments: Well balanced and great bait around hardwood in springtime. Extremely good value. Stout hooks right out of the package. Tackle Warehouse had it to me extremely fast.

Comments: This lure works very well on a rare occasion I will break the trebles off upgrading them can't hurt.
From: Steve: NJ 2/26/23
Comments: The 1.5 has just the right amount of erratic movement and thumping rattle to entice strikes. Holds up well to the riprap and wood structure I like to throw to. There are numerous color patterns to choose from for all your situations.

Comments: Works great cranking the 4-6 ft weeds. Will hold up to the northern pike and muskies up here in Minnesota too. Haven’t seen a Hard Knock in Firetiger. Maybe in the future
From: Mike: Minnesota 12/31/22
Comments: Awesome bait, and beautiful paint scheme. Really works well in the fall when the bass are keying in on shad. The 1.0 in the same color is awesome too.
From: Unknown: 12/9/22
Comments: Great finish and very noisy. Downfall is hard to tune and likes to run one side or the other but that is on braid.
From: Randy: Magnolia tx 11/30/22
Comments: This bait has great deflection off of shallow cover and rock and a great hookup percentage.

Comments: The KVD 1.5 Hard Knock Squarebill Crankbait is a phenomenal bait fish imitator! I love how it traverses through the water column. It's tight side-to-side wobbling hunting action. Also, let's not forget the single tungsten ball bearing that entices & draws the bigger fish from their haunts in crushing & eating this lure! Great price & brand that you can rely on to put fish in the boat!

Comments: Great search bait. I keep one tied on year round to fish around grass and rocks on Guntersville.
From: OV: 10/10/22
Comments: Only had a chance to use it a couple times since buying it but I am happy with it. Comes through cover really well and has a good action. Lost a few fish first day out with it so upgraded the hooks.

Comments: You cannot go wrong using the Strike King KVD 1,5 Hard Knock Squarebill Crankbait. With a variety of colors to choose from to match the hatch. A very fair price point. The hard knock will call them in especially at safe light. Give the crankbait a try, you will not be disappointed. Good luck and safe fishing.

Comments: Best darn natural shad bait imitation I have ever seen. I catch a lot of fish on this bait. I have thrown it everywhere (Lake Ontario, Finger Lakes, and St. Lawrence River) in New York State. It is more deadly in late August and September. This bait is exactly how natural shad look. Wobble is killer and the bass love it. Swim it fast then slow, then fast again. Throw it anywhere. Obviously, the big hook can catch a lot of weeds.

Comments: Catching the heck out of them on fire craw on Toledo Bend.
From: Unknown: 4/6/22
Comments: Good Bait, good colors, bought 2 and am very happy. Seem to go 4 ft deep mostly with moderate to erratic retrieve. Love the green tomato color and the brown to orange belly craw pattern. Cant wait to catch some more on them!

Comments: I used this crankbait in my past tournament and caught my limit. I was flipping it under docks and I would hit some parts of the dock but the crankbait not even the lip broke, this thing is amazing I will definitely be buying more

Comments: Hands down my go to bait. I love moving fast down a rock bank or even a tree line bank to find fish. I have caught more fish this way than any other bait out there. People ask, can the 1.5 square bill catch big fish. Well of course it can but when I'm fishing a tournament I want to put 5 fish in the boat fast. And this bait has always seem to come through. You can bet that I have this bait tied on year round.

Comments: What can I say, really? Its my go to bait. I have almost all thr colors and backups of the primary ones. Its the first, and the last bait I throw. The hard nock baits are tough, rarely need tuning out of the package and fish chomp em. I've had good luck running the hooks they come with (at least for a while). Great color options, and "they just get work done". I run these on a 6'6" st croix glass cranking rod and an abu garcia revo sx 6 speed and wither 12 or 15lb flouro (usually 12).

Comments: This is a must have in clear water. The bass and the trout in the NW love it
From: Unknown: Olympia, WA 10/12/21
Comments: I use this on the Ca. Delta (craw color) and it's one of my favorites. I've had a lot success with it. Great for running levee banks and dragging island points/In-between sparse tule clumps. I do upgrade the hooks though. Caught a 8 lbs 9 oz largemouth Sept 2021. So yes! Big fish do hit this little lure.

Comments: Got introduced to these hard knocks through a friend and I must say I'm very pleased with them I fish around alot of rock so the bills take a beating havent had one break on me yet and paint seems to hold up pretty well a few chips here and there but that's going to happen and the sound these things put out draws some vicious strikes keep up the great work and thank you TW.

Comments: Same great 1.5 kvd action, now with a knocking sound. I have caught a few bass on it as well as some multi species too. Going to buy more.

Comments: We have caught a tremendous amount of fish using Strike King KVD 1.5 hardknock squarebill crankbaits in several colors. My son and I fish Lake Fork, Falcon and Ray Roberts regularly and this bait work great on each of these lakes
From: Bill: McKinney, TX 7/15/21
Comments: Just recently got back into fishing and needed to get up to date on my tackle. These crank baits has awesome colors realistic look and run true out of the box unlike the old ones that had to be tuned. They catch fish. I'm a true believer in these crank baits.
From: Gunner: Beechgrove, TN 7/3/21
Comments: Love the 1.5 and 2.5 Hard Knock.really calls in both Largemouth and Smallmouth in stained or dingy water. Excellent lure around rocks, bushes and trees. Casts great and runs true right out of the box. Couldn't be happier with the Hard Knock.

Comments: Perfect size, movement & rattle
From: Peter: Phoenix, AZ 5/7/21
Comments: This is what i would call a "high pitch" one knocker. Not like a typical one knocker. if you want a really good one try the LC DRS.(deep rattle sound). It's $11.99 but worth every penny.
From: John: North Potomac 4/21/21
Comments: Great Lure that really hunts well. Easy to roll off rock /wood .Anytime Bass should be in the Shallows a KVD 1.5 is a great lure to try first!
From: Banks: Kimberly, AL 3/29/21
Comments: Fishing up north in Wisconsin we have a lot of different types of grass this bait is great for pulling them bigguns up with that louder deeper knock!
From: Andrew: Colgate, WI 3/26/21
Comments: The 1.5 is already a highly regarded crankbait, the hard knock brings a little extra for stained water. Its a great add to the box.
From: Justin 2/27/21
Comments: Love the lure right out of the package. The only issue I have is the front hooks are too big and can easily get hung on the square bill. I change my front hooks to a smaller size before tying one on.
From: Jeff: Leesburg, FL 2/16/21
Comments: Beautiful color and a nice sound to it.
From: Robbie: East Haven, CR 2/10/21
Comments: Sorry S.K. not a true one knocker should have only one ball for the true knocker bait.
From: Don: Huntington 1/22/21
Comments: Great bait at a great price!
From: CBC 1/14/21
Comments: This bait is excellent! I do not understand, though, why Strike King doesn't use the superior hooks that they use on the SK silent KVD silent 1.5 model. They are not even close on quality! Please correct this.
From: Unknown: Flint, TX 1/11/21
Comments: I have not tried this yet, but I know it is going to produce big results. I started trolling the Erie Canal with 1.0's in multiple colors and crush on them with every species you can imagine. Liking them so much, I bought the 4.0's and do very well on Pike and large mouth with them. I truly don't believe you can go wrong with any of the Strike King KVD square bills. Looking to target Smallmouth with this one, but I know it too will catch a variety of fish.
From: Unknown: 1/6/21
Comments: This bait is not a true knocker, it should have a single lead ball inside, with limited movement from side to side! This bait is a rattling bait!
From: Marc L: Rohrersville, MD 1/1/21
Comments: Typical Strike King square bill. Perfect in every way straight out of the pack.
From: Unknown: Shreveport, LA 12/30/20
Comments: Good crankbait, prefer this over the silent 1.5 for water with a little color to it. Caught some big perch on this bait!
From: JC: Netherlands 12/27/20
