Comments: This review is for the 6'10" Worm/Jig 1 rod. As far as build quality goes, the reel seat is great, the cork is nice, the blank is spotless. The guides are ok, seem to be quality guides, not micro but not full size either. The wrapping on the guides is OK as well, honestly I've seen better on cheaper rods. A few wraps of an accent color and added strength would be nice. The epoxy job is disappointing. Down by the handle its ok but up by the guides it's uneven and honestly, my 9 year old daughter could have put it on more even and with more care. In use, the rod feels fantastic. It's light weight and the handle is super comfortable. The rod feels crisp and it's super sensitive. The action may be a bit light for what they have it listed for. I've tossed everything from weightless senkos to 1/2oz jigs on it. Anything heavier seems to over load it a bit. the 1/4 to 3/8 range seems to be the sweet spot. It's excellent for pitching and skipping d ocks and close up lay downs, which is what I bought it for. I like it, but I 'm going to really use it hard this summer to see how the guides and wrapping hold up before I spend more on others.

Comments: Just picked up the 6'8 jerkbait rod, after searching for a jerkbait specific rod for years. For the money, I have not found anything close to it. My next pick was going to be the st croix tournament legend, but it was over 100$ more and yet this rod feels a lot better!

Comments: I went with the Blue Diamond series for one main reason, this is probably the best rod you can buy for the money. A mentor of mine told me, you should focus more on spending money on the best rods before you spend tons on reels. Well, the Blue Diamond has been a phenomenal rod for me. As an avid tournament angler, these Virtus rods have performed top notch and put many fish in the boat. High quality components, light weight, amazing sensitivity, excellent customer service!
