Overview

Providing a true competitive edge when it comes to finesse techniques, the YGK XBRAID OHDRAGON WX4 Sinking Braided Line is engineered with a faster sink rate than other braids, making it easier to get small baits to the bottom and cast in windy conditions. Manufactured using four strands of PE braided line tightly wrapped around 100% (F1) Fluorocarbon, the YGK XBRAID OHDRAGON WX4 Sinking Braided Line offers a specific gravity of 1.40, which translates to less slack in windy conditions and a quicker rate of fall.

For added efficiency while fishing, the YGKX BRAID OHDRAGON WX4 Sinking Braided Line features light red markings every three feet, providing a more accurate judgment of depth, lure manipulation, and sink rate. Maintaining all of the attributes that anglers look for in a premium braided line, the YGK XBRAID OHDRAGON WX4 Sinking Braided Line maintains an impressive strength, seamless castability, and versatile performance that translates to freshwater and saltwater.  Manufactured in Japan with unmatched attention to quality, the YGK XBRAID OHDRAGON WX4 Sinking Braided Line offers a specialized construction that shines with finesse techniques.

Comments: I've been hesitant to to write anything on this line. It's a staple for me now, despite the fact it's often out of stock in the US and I have to order direct from Japan. This is not your standard braid. The strength ratings, as mentioned below, somehow got botched in the English packaging on import spools. Cut the suggested strength by half and it's about right. This is not poly-based material like the braid you use now. It's a special type of nylon that's super dense and sinks. It's not as sensitive as standard braid but it's more sensitive than straight flouro. The sinking aspect is what makes this line; instead of putting drag into your finesse presentations, this stuff sinks and gives you a more direct line to your bait. If you've ever had to fish tiny stuff on a cold windy day and watched your braid drag your bait out of position...this solves that. Before you read further; this line is fairly difficult to tie leader onto. Any knot that requires the leader to bear the pressure of the knot (RP knot, Albright, FG) is a no go, the YGK is too thin and will cut right through it. The Uni to Uni works well, plus it's not as clunky with the thin diameter. Blood knot does as well, but you have to really wet it and be careful when drawing it closed. I use the 13lb, 16lb, 22lb, and 32lb. The 16lb and 22llb are closest to the 8-12lb standard braid people use. 16lb will match best with 6-8lb leader, and 22lb will match best with 8-10lb. I use the 13lb for super light stuff on 4-5lb. The 32lb I use on a shallow spool bait caster for pitching 5" senkos with a 10-15lb leader and for fishing lighter jigs on spotted bass reservoirs. The 22lb and 32lb are definitely more user friendly in regards to connections. I don't employ this with baits that are more retrieve based, like a smaller jerk bait, underspin or a Keitech on a ball head. Once you get above 3/16oz oz in jighead weight, the bait has enough ballast to balance out the drag of a regular braid. Not that this won't work!...it's just that you don't need to pay the extra cost. But if you want something that will give you an edge when throwing lightly weighted or weightless baits...this is it.

Comments: This line handles great and works very well for finesse applications.  The line ratings are JDM and are not the true breaking strength.  My experience is true BS is about 50% line rating.  I use 22lb that breaks about 10-12 lbs with 6-8lb leader for drop shots.  I love this line once I got the right strength. Very thin and smooth.

Comments: First off I'd like to say over never left a review for anything. With that said, I bought 2 spoils of 10lb. Absolutely worst line in my life. I can break it pulling with just my hands. It snap casts with a 1/8oz drop shot weight. Pure junk. Don't waste your money. You will be highly disappointed!

Comments: Line sinks pretty fast, great for shallow spool baitcaster. Line does produce small hair compared to other braid , I was throwing following line ygk and Maxcuatro into heavy timber lay down on the river. Fishing for smallie using jigs on both setups.
