Featuring a patented direct head-to-blade connection and trademarked hex-shaped ChatterBlade, the Z-Man Chatterbait Elite EVO is designed to start vibrating immediately and produce erratic hunting action with each turn of the reel handle. Built around a 5/0 custom heavy-duty needlepoint black nickel hook, the Chatterbait Elite EVO is equipped with a stainless-steel blade offered in plated, painted, and glitter-coated finishes to mimic fleeing or distressed crawdads or baitfish.
Fitted with wire-tied 100% silicone skirting material for increased longevity, each jig has a hybrid molded split grip and wire bait keeper to hold soft plastics securely in place and allow for easy rigging. A highly evolved performance-based and more cost-effective bladed jig, the Z-Man Chatterbait Elite EVO is equipped with oversized lifelike eyes and available in highly detailed pro-inspired head paint schemes and skirt color patterns.

EVO chatter baitThis is a good quality bait that is to be expected coming from Zman. And if I’m being honest I don’t know how you pay more for the jack hammer it is a great bait but there is no reason to pay more for that when you can get this.

AmazingI believe these are just as good as the jackhammer. I see others are posting about the snap quality but i haven’t had many problems. I have caught hundreds of fish on an evo and they are great for the price. I was able to catch 30 largemouth on one evo before the skirt came apart. 30 fish on one 10$ lure without having to replace something on it is pretty solid to me. The evo chatterbait is the best chatterbait on the market and don’t plan on ever using anything else. i took advantage of the tacklewarehouse 45% off chatterbait sale and grabbed 20 of them. Will always be my go to bait, have never had any hook up issues or swimming issues like the mini max has. I have a few jack hammers and believe they are damn near the same as the evo. To each their own but i love the evo.

My Go-To for 3 yearsThe ONLY time I will pick up a Z-Man Jackhammer over an EVO, is if I can get that Jackhammer for under $15. That is a very rare occurrence these days, so the EVO remains my unquestionable pick when I'm throwing a Chatterbait. Black and Blue, Bluegill, and Lava Craw. That's all you need. The trailer options are endless. I prefer a Chatterspike by Z Man as a trailer, but the Spunk Shad by Hog Farm/ Missile Baits works really well, albeit far less durable.
Pros:
- Fairly weedless/snagproof around rocks/docks/weeds.
- Chatters when you reel it.
- Holds up to decent abuse, other than the paint.
- Affordable price to performance.
Cons:
- Rocks chip the paint fairly quickly, especially on the painted blades.
If I could only ever have one lure in my box for the rest of time. I would pick a Chatterbait. If I could only have one color? Black and Blue.

OkIve had the snap open on me now on three separate occasions on three different baits. Using 14lb mono and not even horsing the fish. One happened on a violent bite. Why not use the system on the original chatterbait? Because of this I will no longer be buying these but will stick with the original.

Everything about this jig is perfect!I fish won tournaments with this chatterbait and I love every option of color. Love the look size, love the natural colors all the way to the flashy colors. The Craw Keeper is immaculate and the blade is perfect!

NEEDS BETTER KEEPER!The current trailer keeper is awful...NEEDS UPDATED!! Idk why they didnt just shrink down the evo elite chatterbait's trailer keeper! So on the evo elite just take the "weight/keeper" on the middle of the shank of the hook ... down size ... but it up against the skirt notch on the evo mini head and have the wire hook keeper to go barely past (closer to the bend of hook) this "weight/keeper". YW!

Bass CandyEasy hook ups. Add your preferred trailor, let it sink down and constant retrieve. If bass are around they'll bite.

Best bang for your buckNow that Jackhammers are running at 20 dollars a piece, going with the Elite Evo is now a no-brainer. A lot of the colors have been carried over to this lineup. Plus the paint on the blades holds up much better while the hook keeper works seamlessly with ElazTech trailers. You can't go wrong with this Chatterbait, the action is right up there with Evergreen/Z-man's more costly option.

Excellent bladed jig!!Z-Man hit a home run with the EVO! In my opinion, it is every bit as good as the Jack Hammer and the bait keeper is better than the one on the Jack Hammer. I have caught a ton of fish on the EVO in several different colors. I'm glad to see it has been released in Golden Shiner as that is one of my go to colors. Z-Man, if you will release it in Morning Dawn, I will come back and give it a 5 star review! LOL
