Overview
Resurrecting the classic mushroom jighead cherished by finesse fishing and Ned rig enthusiasts, the Z-Man OG Mushroom Jighead pairs perfectly with ElaZtech finesse baits and other small soft plastics. Molded to match the definitive half-head mushroom shape, the Z-Man OG Mushroom Jighead is able to crawl over cover with ease and keep your soft plastics pointed upward in a defensive or feeding position to entice strikes from predatory gamefish. It also sports a needlepoint VMC hook that provides lightning fast hook penetration to increase your hook up and landing ratios. A molded double keeper pins soft plastics securely in place while a durable powder-coated finish provides chip-resistant performance in jagged terrain as well. Offered in multiple colors to match up with your favorite finesse bait, the Z-Man OG Mushroom Jighead will become a staple in every finesse angler’s tackle box.

Comments: Best Ned head on the market. There is a reason it's the head of choice for Ned Kedhe himself. The hook it's much smaller than a standard finesse shroom head, making you bait have almost double the action. The only thing is you have to be VERY specific on what rod you use, and how much drag you dial in. I use a 7'0 ML falcon spinning rod that is super whippy and have my drag pretty loose with 6lb leader and I've never bent out a hook on these. Another thing to consider is the 1/32 and 1/16 have the small hook and the 3/32 has a bigger longer shank hook. 1/16th is my go to size for almost all situations.

Comments: These are a lot smaller than traditional zman ned heads. I may have missed that in the description but hopes this helps someone.

Comments: Nice jig. It's very universal I use it for under a slip float for walleye. As well as a Ned rig. I just wish the jig had a larger hook and more space between the hook and the jig.

Comments: Nice little light weight heads. That slow the fall that Bass cannot resist. If you catch a 2.5 lb. Or larger Bass the light wire hook May straighten out a little but you can always bend it back. Yes, the hooks will hold and size bass. Thanks Z-Mann for making this product.

Comments: Great heads - this review is for then1/32 headz - you need to adjust to a few things ..1) they are smaller than the normal shroomz heads or any of the competition- shorter hook and smaller gap between hook shaft and hook point ..so 2) when running hook through go shallower on the worm. What I mean by that is run the hook instead of right down the middle go maybe 40%(a tab above center) so your hook will sit out of the bait a little more - u can adjust accordingly if you want that open hook to set lower in the trd but you'll notice you get bites but not get a hook pinned ..and 3) the hook keeper is different - when using standard elaztech TRD you have to pull trd almost all the way up and over shroomz head then adjust it back down to have it rest properly snugly against the shroomz head (easily remedied with gel superglue) but if you like changing colors out often and not using a new head for each color then that's what you'll have to do to get it to sit right .. things are killers right now, summer grass and slime haunt the banks but the OG 1/32 headz are perfect for keepin it just on or lightly in cover without getting hung up ..comes up and over things! chartreuse has been a go too especially since lightest you can get em in normal headz is 1/15th bluegill are on the banks so putting a ned rig right along bank fits right in ..paired this head up with some Jackall clone gills and it's phenomenal with exception of the clone gill being soooo soft ..Zman needs to make a little elaztech gill. great product

Comments: I was hoping these would be better but they are not. Worst jig head I have ever used. Hook is extremely weak will bend out with a 2lb smallmouth glad I didn't catch any big ones on a tournament. I bought 5 packs I would return if I could I open all of the packs. I love all of the Zman baits but there jig heads are not good.

Comments: Great little head. Small sticky hooks, perfect for Ned Rigging or other finesse rigs. Good paint job and bait keeper collar. Definitely Recommend.

Comments: I had the new Mushroom Jigs on my list all winter. Finally received my order today. First thing I noticed was the smaller hook size. I usually use the 1/15 Finesse Shroomz which work great. Thought this would basically be the same thing 1/16 oz Mushroom Jig but have a better hook. I was wrong due to the hook size. I will most likely stay with the original Shroomz which always worked well on Door County Small Mouth. The hooks on this new mushroom head are much smaller. The Shroomz match up perfectly with the Zman Ned baits. Oh well I will find another use for these maybe bluegill fishing this spring.

Comments: GREAT as expected . Hooks are smaller than the regular shroomz head but you get use to if . Was wondering why zman changed the shape of the original shroomz heads in 1/20th and now I know why ..this OG head is its replacement .. 1/20th and 1/32!!! Oh my!! Good stuff

Comments: I've been molding my own Mushroom Heads for over 25 years. However, my mold does not have a cavity for weights any less than 3/32oz. These Z-Man OG heads look great and should fill the bill I've always wanted for a Mushroom Head in 1/16 oz. weight. I also like the fact that they're using quality, VMC black-nickel hooks, the same style I use in all of my molds.

Comments: Purchased between 5-10 packs. A good portion of the painted heads had the eyelets covered in paint. I believe some of this paint that could not be removed inside the eyelet hole was abrasive and contributed to line breaks. Hooks are sharp and stayed sharp through quite a few fish. Overall acceptable product, needs improvement though.

Comments: I have used the original Gopher Mushroom Jig in a 1/16 and 1/8 configuration. They were simply the best Ned Rig jig I have ever used! This new OG Mushroom Jig is an exact copy of the Gopher Jig. I assume Z-Man acquired permission to produce this jig and they did a great job. I much prefer it over any other Mushroom style jig. The fall is better, the rigging of the Z-man TRD is easier, and it does not get snagged as much as the other types I have purchased without a weed-guard. I prefer chartreuse color, but Z-man offers that as well as black plus other colors.

Comments: VMC hooks is fine. When the Mushroom jighead snagged stump, the jighead got back all that slightly bend the hook on 6 lb Stren Original. At same stump Hayabusa Brush Easy jighead hooks were all broken when snagged at same tackle.

Comments: Great jigheads for midwest finesse purists. Very small, just like the ol gophers. That being said, for those who seemingly keep demanding heavier ned jigheads, and larger, heavier wire ned hooks, you'll hate these. These are some fantastic true midwest finesse jigheads. Sharp, light jighead weights, and small hook so your ned rig comes through cover easier and doesn't snag up. But if you're not into ned rigging, I'm sadly guessing there will be a lots of complains about them. Great jigheads, I think Kehde would be proud

Comments: love these new OG jigheads; I like this style of keeper so much better than the small piece of wire. These are super sharp; and the colors available are awesome! I started with red; chartreuse and blue. I love the fact that these have VMC hooks; that got my attention right there. These are going to be a real winner. The hooks also seem a little heavier than the original finesse ShroomZ. I'm pretty sure the owner of Gopher Jigs would be very satisfied with this new replica of an absolute classic. Great job Zman!
