Glorified Fluke with WingsMy package of Zoom Winged Flukes arrived like that of most people with bent tails and one with a tail shorter than the other. At $1 apiece, Zoom is charging more than double that of its Salty Super Fluke Jr. I think they could use some of that profit to package this “glorified” fluke with wings, without a price increase, in some kind of tray / clam shell that would better ensure that their product arrived in a usable condition. If Deps can ever create more of their jerkbaits, and they eventually will when the Jig Minnow frenzy begins to cool, Zoom will need every advantage they can get to maintain sales near present levels.
SolidIt's a good fluke but like I can barely tell the difference between a normal zoom super fluke and this. They work well as a fluke and I've caught good fish on them but the wings don't do much, at least that I've noticed. If I did it again I would just get another pack of the normal zoom super flukes the 2 dollars isn't worth it in my opinion.
Honest OpinionThe truth is... These are 7.5/10. If you wanna burn money and support the originals, get Sakamatas. If you wanna save a little and support an American company, get these. You get what you pay for. They're not bad but definitely not as good as Sakamatas. What they make up for is a little cheaper but mostly, they're always available. No more backorders. That's enough to warrant me to buy these, especially if I'm fun fishing and not tournament fishing. But when money's on the line, JDM baby.
Don't listen to the hatersThe 4" are the deal don't let anyone's complaints detour your purchase. You can fish them and cut the head all the way to the wing when your rollin thru packs to get more fish per bait.
Clear Sakamata Knock Off without the MagicI bought these because the Deps Sakamata shad is impossible to get right now. These are not the deal. I had issues with the quality and inconsistencies in the coloring and action.
Lacks Quality.As others have stated these are typical 'Zoom' some were deformed within the package, don't understand how Zoom raised their typical price to $7.99 for these without ensuring quality. Will hold out for more Deps Sakamata's.
NopeJust like the Swimming Super Fluke, they ruined the bait with garbage packaging that allows for bent baits. I won’t buy any more, and once the hype dies, nobody else will either. No, I’m not going to boil them to straighten them. I shouldn’t have to!
Come on zoomLike others have said the quality control is horrible. They're nowhere near as soft as the sakamata shad. I've had them for a few weeks. All that being said I have caught a few fish and that's why I give them three stars instead of two. They don't look as good as the deps and if I'm in clearwater I'm definitely going to throw the sakamata shad. Use these in water where there's a little more stain and the fish is keying in on vibration more than sight.
Bought to compare to the SakamataDefinitely worth it to pay the $3 extra dollar for the Sakamata Shad. Baits in package were deformed and lacking quality. Isn’t a stop gap.
Packaging SucksCome on Zoom if you are going to charge more give us some decent packaging. Also the quality control on baits is awful. Saying that these do roll and are an alternative to the Sakamata.
Been strolling itWorks great the a Range Roller 3/0 jig head. Only two fishing sessions with it so far. Been catching a bunch of bass with it. Rolls great and has a nice action. Haven't tried it weightless yet.
It’s ok, but why so expensive???It does what it’s supposed to. Can stroll if you want it to stroll. However why is it so much more expensive than a super fluke? It’s the same thing… I won’t be getting these again for that reason. Zoom you’re getting greedy.
