Overview

A collaboration between two of the top companies in the fishing industry, the Daiwa Yamamoto Neko Fat Worm gives anglers unmatched performance. Combining Daiwa’s precision detailing with Yamamoto’s legendary soft plastic, the Neko Fat Worm features a thick body similar to that of a Yamamoto Senko and also comes equipped with a bulbous tail, which provides a unique, quivering action. A great choice fished weightless, it is also absolutely deadly on a Neko Rig with a nail weight in the head.

The Neko Rig is always a great option for finesse fishing. While most anglers use a weightless worm, the nail weight in the Neko Rig gives anglers the ability to use heavier gear and reach fish in deeper water, where weightless worms just aren’t practical to fish.  Available in a range of famous Yamamoto colors, the Daiwa Yamamoto Neko Fat Worm is another legendary bait in the making.

Great wormThis worm is great for neko rig with an O ring. Rig it up and do not go through the plastic, because it’s not the strongest. I leave the hook right under the O ring and easily catch 4+ fish on one without much damage to the worm. I fished for hours my last trip, then casted one of these out, and caught one on my first cast. Ended up catching 2 more shortly after. Worm is still in perfect condition and I’ll be using it next trip. Give them a shot!

Great wormThese are fish catchers plain and simple. Durability is about the same as a Senko. Which isn't very good but I usually get 2-3 fish per worm with these and Senkos. This is a unique bait that will catch fish that have been beat over the head with regular stick worms. I haven't even tried these with a Neko rig which is their primary purpose but they work great on a light Texas rig. A good way to fish these is rotate them with a Senko. Because of the bulbous tail you get a unique action and a different profile than the fish are accustomed to. I like to go over an area with a Senko then go back over it with these slowly picking it apart. Alot of times you will pick off a few more with these. Of course they are expensive and not as durable as some stick worms. But I don't mind paying a little more for a great bait and the results. Good color selection. Not a lot of color options but they do offer the staples and everything you will need. These work great for me and I will definitely keep buying! Yamamoto and Daiwa, a match made in Heaven!!

Comments: I love GYB with a passion, but these baits just aren't durable at all. AND I ALWAYS RECOMMEND baits by YAMAMOTO. I MEAN THE GUY IS MY DUDE. He can't win me over with this one though, I would much rather go with a FattyZ or pocket rocket by reaction BECAUSE THEY DONT RIP!!! LOVE GYB BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!! PEACE AND LOVE.

From: Jay : Texas 4/24/23

Comments: Cool idea. However, the worm is too soft and flimsy to hold up to a day on the water. I end up switching worms before even catching fish due to tears and rips in the worm from just casting. If they were cheaper it'd be worth it.

From: Walker: GA 4/4/23

Comments: These are phenomenal & I hope they never stop making them. On a wacky rig there isn't any other worm that quivers & moves like this one.

From: sprogk: Michigan 3/22/23

Comments: Even though I have caught many fish on Senko's, since I started fishing the Diana Yamamoto Neko Fat Worm my Senko "stash" sits idle these days The Daiwa Yamamoto Neko Fat Worm simply out fishes all soft plastic baits I used to use and has become my number "1" bass fishing lure!!!

From: Unknown: 3/13/23

Comments: These are fish catching worms but they are really soft and not that durable. My vmc ring broke and i tried to get it off and pulled my worm in two . Also these worms are expensive compared to other options.

From: Michael: Wisconsin 8/24/22

Comments: These worms are AMAZING! We started Neko fishing the super clear, highly preasured waters here in So Cal and have not found another bait that produces like the Neko Fat does. I take a lot of inexperienced adults as well as kids out in the boat and I always have these tied on for them. The Neko Fat never disapoints! Our guests ALWAYS get bit on them and smile ear to ear with their catches!

From: Todd: California 8/11/21

Comments: Love these for weightless TX rig. If anyone has issues with these worms not lasting, try pairing them with the Owner Twistlock Light Hook.

From: Unknown: Texas 8/4/21

Comments: This thing gets bit! Catches big ones. But be advised, they DO NOT LAST! You have to decide if you're willing to spend a lot more money because of the price and durability. This morning I caught 3 smallmouth but used 5 worms. However, all of them were very high quality fish. I'm not 100% sure if it's worth it yet for the price and durability, but I will use the last half of this pack and see how they do. Cool design.

From: Tom: Mesa, AZ 7/9/21

Comments: These worms are awesome, but if you like them try a zman fattyz instead. Cheaper and last for a ton of fish.

From: Andy: Indiana 2/23/21

Comments: Fantastic action! Caught 1-4lb and 1-6 lb largemouth bass first trip using them.

From: Gordon: Woodbridge, VA 6/10/19

Comments: Love this worm! Flat out catches bass. I was able to land 10 bass on one worm, but the trick is to use superglue. When it gashes just put a tiny drop in it and squish it back together and what you got another shot at landing a fish. I've done this several times to make them last 10x longer and the bass don't seem to care at all that it's a Frankenstein worm lol.

From: Lisa: St George Utah 6/4/19

Comments: WARNING: If you fish this bait, you might never fish another brand Neko/Stick Bait again. The Yamamoto Senko WAS undefeated, until now! I fish it Neko, weightless Texas rigged, Shakey Head and Chicken rigged. My favorite go-to finesse bait!!

From: T. Lain: Lake Havasu City, AZ 5/29/19

Comments: My favorite Neko bait, coupled with a 1/16 nail weight. Not very durable, but in GYCB fashion, the trade-off is they just plain catch bass. I would buy my favorite colors in a 100 pack, if offered.

From: TC: South Dakota  2/5/19

Comments: these new worms by yamamoto did not disappoint. I have been fishing senkos for years and Yes at one time I did try buying the knock-offs to save a few $$ but quickly resorted back to the real deal bc there is absolutely a BIG difference. I still fish my senkos but now have incorporated these Neko Ftas as well. Ive done well with them weightless Tx rigged and will e trying them rigged "neko" style soon and im sure they will work. Red Shad is the only color I buy for where I fish in Louisiana and these have proven to get bit when everything else wouldn't. Also, Just an FYI.... I recently tried the Yamamoto D shad as an alternative to my zoom flukes and they are awesome as well. Caught some nice fish already on them.

From: JW: Louisiana 8/22/17

Comments: Fished on a shakey-head and out-caught partner using finesse worm of same color in the same boat 5-1.  They are not durable at all.  Most got flung off by the first fish caught, occasionally I could get 2 fish before having to replace the bait.

From: Unknown 8/7/17

Comments: They definitely work and I have been a Senko man for a long time, think these may work better. BUT.... the durability is horrible. every time id catch a fish the worm would go flying, sometimes in  multiple pcs. Red Shad has always been my Go-To. But for the price the worms should be more durable.

From: JW: Louisiana 8/1/17

Comments: It's so funny how many Senko knock-offs there are out there that are absolute crap. I wasted a lot of  money buying other brands because they were cheaper.  Then I buy a pack of these  see the action  and kick myself for ignoring " buy once, cry once". These baits have crazy good action and like the previous reviewer said they have even more action that standard Senkos. Hopefully we'll see some more color options soon because these are killer.

From: Hydrilla Gorilla: Lake Seminole  GA 7/22/17

Comments: First time using caught multiple 2 lbers and  a 5 lber, seems to have more wobble than the regular senko wacky rigged
