Overview

One of the more frustrating things that can happen to you when you're fishing a worm or other soft plastic bait is to get the lure back to the boat and seeing that the bait has slid down off the offset and is uselessly clumped down on the shank of the hook. It may have been bitten and pulled down or went through some rough cover and snagged, but as soon as that happens, for sure, you won't get bit. The G-Lock hook from Gamakatsu is designed to reduce the likelihood of that happening. The offset bend at the top of the shank, called the G-Lock, features a sharper than 90 degree bend so when pressure is put on the plastic bait it is pushed deeper into the offset, not pulled off and down the shank. That means you can be more confident your lure is rigged right and is capable of catching fish the whole length of the retrieve. The extra-wide gap works well with thick plastic baits as well as standard worm sizes and the hook point is in line with the eye which means all the force you put into the hookset goes straight into the point.

Comments: These are my absolute favorite hooks for Texas rigged worms, Carolina rigs, and weightless TR senkos. Razor sharp, but the two REAL Benefits of these hooks are one, Athena bend near the eyelet helps keep the plastic lure from sliding down the bait, and two, the upturned point locks into the plastic better for texposed/skinhooked setups. One thing to be aware of is that they seem to run a bit smaller. A size 5/0 in these seems like about a 3/0 or 4/0 in a normal EWG. So order bigger ones than you think you'll need. That said, these hooks are truly excellent. And I've tried em all (owner, gamakatsu, daichii, VMC, Mustad, trokar, eagle claw, decoy, tru-turn, etc etc) the Gamakatsu G-Lock beats them all for its intended purpose, in my opinion.

Comments:  The G-Lock in 1/0 is the absolute best drop shot hook choice to use with a Crosstail Shad or a Shad Shape Worm.  The slight belly allows for a perfect bait collapse on a hook set and the G-Locks won't tear up your bait like a re-barb hook.  Half the time I believe that the hook does more damage to the bait than the fish.  I gave up nose hooking drop shot baits years ago and these are the most effective Texas rigging drop shot hook out there.  Nothing even close in my opinion.

Comments: This hook is a great designed. The bend before the point of the hook allows the point to dig its self back into your soft plastic. Even when your plastic is torn up, it still tucks away preventing snags and grass build up. I have yet to loose a fish on these hooks. This are now the only hooks I use. 1/0 are great for tx rigged drop shots. and 5/0 will fit anything from flukes, brush hogs, 5" worms etc.

Comments: One of my favorite worm hooks and It works for mostly any bait on the market! Just be aware these sizes run slightly smaller than described. So if you wana 3/0 for example order a 4/0 etc. but other wise excellent hook!

From: Mario: Anaheim 8/15/17

Comments: I've been using these hooks for Yama Ikas and tubes. Both baits have a medium hook up ratio because they r thick. They do not slide down on the hook. Very good design & sharp. Thank you John from Buffalo for the suggestion to use with Senkos. I love these reviews for the great ideas!

From: John: Germantown, MD 7/24/16

Comments: Quite simply the best designed work hook I've ever used. They are strong, sharp and hold the bait better than any other. Percentage of solid hooksets is fantastic. I very seldom lose a bass on these hooks.

From: Ted: Greenville, SC 10/30/15

Comments: I only use this hooks but I'm pretty disappointed in them. I hooked into a big enough fish that my hook Bent and I lost the fish. I was using a 4/0 hook which I thought was big enough

From: Vinny: CA

Comments: Have yet to lose a fish on one of these hooks. Best drop shot hook, period.

From: Brian: San Francisco

Comments: The perfect Senko hook, in my opinion. In the 4/0 size, the sharp bend near the eye prevents the bait from slipping. Just a great hook.
