Overview

The Plano Pro Latch 3731 box is big and roomy, offering you plenty of space to store bulky items. This box is perfect for spools of line, spare reels and tools. Although it's roomy, the Plano 3731 Tackle Box still fits in tackle storage systems that hold the Plano 3700 boxes. There are no dividers inside this box so many items that you can't fit in standard boxes will fit in the 3731. Good hinges and the Pro Latch system ensure that the Plano 3731 Tackle Box will give you years of service.

Comments: I am up to at least 10 of these now and the tackle warehouse comment review folks can check my order history to confirm. Reasons these rock: They stack perfectly on 3700 size boxes, which I have a bunch of. 3700 size fits perfectly into a backpack. It's roughly the same size as a 15" laptop. It's a great size to standardize your storage on. Not having dividers is a feature, not a bug. So many fishing products just are weirdly shaped and you have enough of them to require a compartment-free box. I'm talking all my fly tying materials get their own box, my big swimbaits get their own box, my big saltwater plugs get their own box, I have one that I just use for fishing tools (bait wraps, lip grips, pliers, hook files, line nippers, pliers, worm threaders, bait buttons, magic thread, finger gloves, the list goes on). I also keep one as a day box, because especially for surf fishing you want enough room to bring some packs of keitech swimbaits, some hardbaits, and a bunch of big sinkers, and to fit that all in your backpack without it rolling around. It's just the swiss army knife of boxes. A lot of folks mention this box for storing bags of soft plastics. It definitely works for that, and I do it too, though I will say it's not my favorite use case. It's really affordable. At $10, it'll cost you $100 to buy 10 of them. A single plano prolatch box (which, don't get me wrong, are amazing) is like $30-50. You can use these to store things other than fishing tackle! Their packable nature, roomy-but-not-unwieldy size, and clean stacking makes them fantastic for home use. One warning: don't overpack these too hard. The hinges are not the best ever. If Plano did come out with $30 pro-latch versions of these with stronger plastic, I'd probably still buy them mainly for that reason. Also aesthetics -- the pro latch boxes are quite nice :)
