Rapala DT Series Crankbait

The Rapala DT Series lures, designed by crankbait authority David Fritts, dive fast and stay in the strike zone longer than any other crankbait on the market. The DT Series crankbaits have accounted for numerous tournament wins and record catches in the DT's first year, attesting to its design and fish-catching function. The Rapala DT Series lures are made from the top seven percent of select balsa wood. Perfectly consistent wood combined with carefully placed internal weights, a tapered fuselage and a thin tail creates an incredible crankbait action found only in the DT Series.

Comments: DO not slap agasint water to get weeds off broke of so many bills doing this and catching fish ill stick with strike king kvd series

From:  Jacob: Monona, WI

Comments: I have a couple of DT 4's and one DT 6.  In January I was catching them with the DT4 in the blue shad color.  These cranks work great.

Comments: Best crankbait for me period. For the last 2 years of local tournament fishing here in Oklahoma, this bait has affectionately been nicknamed "Old Faithful" by myself and my fishing partner. The parrot, red craw, and shad colors have won/placed more tournaments for us than any other lure in our arsenals. Multiple 3lb to 6lb  largemouth bass are the norm when these lures are tied on. Very durable, and never need tuning, the DT6 has been the best for me.

Comments: i own several dt6's and dt10's and have had success with both sizes. they are very realistic looking baits, and have pretty good action. i have noticed the bills are a tad flimsy, but i have never broken one off to date. i am somewhat careful to try not to run them into rocks, trees, etc. for fear that they may break. either way, they are solid producers for me.

From: Dan: WV

Comments: This is an overall good lure. Lip hasnt broke yet and dark crawdad color catches fish.

From: Noah: Sioux Center, IA

Comments: The DT series let you know the running depth and the variety of sizes allows switching lures to cover different depth ranges. The bassÕs primary bait fish forage in the lake I frequent is bluegill and the Bluegill color DT is very realistic and effective, running true whether slow cranked or burned. If visibility is on the lower side, I go with the slightly brighter Shad color.

Comments: I would agree with the other comments that the quality of the bill is not the greatest. Ive had many of them explode which really makes you mad that you spent that money. however, i have caught far more walleye and smallies which exceed the bad. i would recommend them just watch where your casting. if you bank it off the wall during a catch or pitching your going to be using a bill as bait and thats it!!!

From: Scott: Upstate NY

Comments: This Rapala DT Blue Gill is one of the best crank bait lure I've used so far. Anywhere I go from lakes, ponds, and rivers was a gauranteed hit. These largemouth bass love em! As soon as you cast out, reel it in fast and pause for a few sec than jerk it. The bass would go nuts!

From: Pao: Atlanta, GA

Comments: That crankbaits is great for walleye and northern pike. I do have between 140- 160 of the DT 16. Of course it happens that they stuck in between the rocks, but I had none of them breaking up.

From: Lutz: Osnabrueck, Germany

Comments: went fishing for tiger musky,s with these lures they just flat out work awesome but did have 5 get off but big fish do that  its just part of the game

From: Bob: Rochester, NY

Comments: I have had great success with this crankbait. I think the action and finish of the bait is spot-on. However, I have never had a crankbait break in half, or have the bill break off--like I have with the DT-10's.  I have had at leat 6 of these baits break just by slapping them on the water to get off muck or grass.  I also have never had a crankbait hang in rocks as bad as these do.  Lost two this past weekend, when I can throw a Norman or a Storm in the same rock and loose zero baits.  These are good baits, but something about the position of the line tie, or the design of the bill makes them hang in rocks like no other.  Even lost two lure knockers trying to shake them free.

From: Brad: Texas, USA

Comments: I use to love any rapala crankbait, but after I have used these i was very disappointed, not because of the action or fish catching ability, but simpley of the poor qualty. I have had a number of them breaking or just bursting. I just wish rapala would start making them with with wire running trough them again.... will never buy one again... norman lures and strike king are much much better.....

From: Ben: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Comments: I was up on Table Rock Lake on 10/12/2010 and caught  a largemouth @6lb 10oz. and a 4lb 3oz. smallie using the shad color crankbait! Some of the best crankbaits in my boat! Several other Kentuckys were caught on this bait as well.

From: Michael: Ripley, TN

Comments: This is a great crankbait for both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. I have caught several largemouth in the 5lb range on the bluegill color. The action on these crankbaits is great. These are my go to crankbaits.

From: Edward: Las Cruces, NM

Comments:Best crankbait for the money. The DT series have great action and finish. The best performing bait in my tackle box season after season. Other baits such as Fat Free Shads, Bandit and Manns don't come close.
