Overview

***TRAILERS NO LONGER INCLUDED***

The Z Man Chatterbait Micro is a downsized 1/8oz version of the Chatterbait Mini. This finesse bait provides the same intense vibration and action as its big brothers, and is an excellent choice for light tackle, clear water, and finicky fish. It also comes with a super tough Elasztech mini split tail trailer.

The Chatterbait Micro combines the flash of a spinnerbait, the vibration of a crankbait and the snag resistance of a jig. The hexblade serves as a weedguard while creating an intense vibrating action. This is the key to this incredible bait. Very versatile, the Chatterbait Micro can be worked from shallow to deep. Remove the skirt and trailer and try a soft plastic jerkbait. This combination works great on schooling fish.

The Chatterbait Micro's blade size is comparable to a penny.

Comments: I love Z-Man products. And the Chatterbait is near the top. I fish them a lot. When I saw these I had to try them. I bought two. A White & Chartreus and Black & Blue. I tried the White & Chartreus first and was very disappointed. It would not start vibrating for a long time. Would vibrate a little then stop. I had some retrieves where I was trying to get it to vibrate and it didn't at all. I was shocked Z-Man would put out a product like this that didn't work right. I took it off and used a standard chatterbait. Finally yesterday I tried the black and blue. It worked perfectly. Better than the normal chatterbait. More like the Jackhammer. Starts vibrating immediately and doesn't stop. Even reeling very slowly it just keeps vibrating. So this morning I pulled out the White & Chartreus to see if it was something I see that was the issue. And after looking at it then trying to move the blade, it was obvious what the problem was. The hook eye that the blade attaches to had paint on it from them painting the head. It was to much paint so the blade wouldn't move much. I took a small knife to the eye and got all the paint off. Now it is perfect. I was in contact with Z-Man about this and told them the issue. I hope it is something the fix in house. Looking at the pictures of the other colors it looks like the eye is either not painted or it is removed from the factory. All except the White & Chartreus. So if you are having an issue with it like I did. Simply remove the paint as best you can and you will be set.

Comments: I love these little things, but be careful when casting near rocks, the heads are soft and the eyes will get busted out

From: Reece: Kansas 2/2/22

Comments: Had 1 in my box for over a year, never gave it a shot until the other day, what a tough day changer, after hours of fishing I smelled skunk in the air until I tied this on, BOOM instantly had a pike bite but got off, after that a smallie smoked it (tip) no trailer paired with a white zoom tiny fluke dab of super glue.

From: JB: Chicago, IL 10/12/21

Comments: The idea is great for river smallmouth or trout... BUT... The skirt is not secure, and more importantly, getting the blade to vibrate against the jig head is not reliable like larger versions. Tried two of them, and both times same problem. Could not feel any vibration of the blade till I found the exact right speed of retrieve. I was hoping for a better product. Will continue trying other brands.

Comments: Don't know what it is about these but they catch fish and not just small ones.Works great with a 2 inch paddle tail trailer or with no trailer.Great smaller finesse presentation when thwy wont the larger stuff.

Comments: Great little version of the larger legend. I used the white micro on Lake Michigan this past summer for "Jumbo" yellow perch, and made a killing. If you are fishing the great lakes for panfish, or even smallmouth, I highly recommend this little treasure. My only advice is secure the skirt better with a wire wrapping.

Comments: These little jokers are awesome I have been throwing them for crappie in Louisiana and smashing some slabs, also they can get u 5 keepers in the boat quick in a tournament. Chartreuse and white seems to be a solid color and black and blue for dirty water.

Comments: These little guys produce in ponds ! I have caught a 6lb and 7lb in local pond using the all white color. Bst technique for me was...I throw them out and let sink to bottom (pray to brush rt there). Then make one small hop off bottom and begin slow retrieve, and occasionally give it a few little pops along the way. For those of you having issues with the skirts...use a trailer which helps. I always use a small white skinny dipper or keitec fat. No issues with skirt. I know the paddletail draws more strikes. Good luck and God bless!

From: Mike G: Cumming, GA 11/13/17

Comments: river smallmouth love these.  Put a better skirt on them and wrap some lead wire around the hook shank to weight them down so they stay down in the current and they become an unreal river smallie lure.

From: Rob: Central PA 4/13/17

Comments: Do not buy the micro chatterbait... I I thought it would be good for the tuff  days on the water, and during the winter time. But when I took it out on the lake within five casts. The eyes start to fall off, and the skirt slides down The shank of the hook after every cast.

From: Antonio: California 1/16/17

Comments: This thing is awesome for cutt troat & brown trout. Take the skirt off & use a 3" berkley gulp minnow or your favorite small plastic swim bait. Its got me several in the three to four pound range. Give it a try if you fish trout.

From: Chase: WY 2/9/16

Comments: This bait absolutely saved my day. Used the white/chart combination and completely turned the bite on! Was surprised on the size of fish that were just killing this thing, nothing huge but a lot in the 2-4lb range. Oh and the largest mudfish I'd ever seen in 31 years down here in FLA.

From: Kris: Minneola, FL 4/5/15

Comments: you can chach any speices with these they are awsome they will turn your tornment around in a heartbeat these little things like iowa

From: Josiah: IA

Comments: I used a chartreuse color, and on the first cast ever made with this lure by me I caught a 3 pounder. I officially love these lures, and whenever I can I will get more.

From: Eric: Everett, MA

Comments: Update: I found myself in Colorado recently, and with nothing better to do I went fishing in the river for trout.  Lost all my inline spinners in the rocks, so I threw one of these guys on there with a hellgie as a trailer.  Started nailing big trout left and right. Back home, fishing in one of my local pounds, in blazing 100 degree heat, caught 13 bass, 2 catfish, and a gar. In summation, buy these baits!
Also, TW, do you think you could start carrying lunker city hellgies?

From: Big J: Houston, TX

Comments:These things are ideal for catching Guadalupe Bass in the Texas Hill Country. The little suckers love them, especially with a smallie beaver as a trailer instead of the skirt. The state Fish of Texas fights twice as hard as a smallmouth, and is the neatest looking of the bass species. Can't find 'em anywhere else, unlike lame states like Iowa that made the catfish their state fish.
