Berkley
In 1937, Berkley Bedell was a 16-year old in Spirit Lake, Iowa, when he took 0.00 of his paper route earnings to start a business selling his hand tied flies. Berkley went on to expand his fly business into fishing lines, introducing the iconic Trilene in 1959. In the 1960s Berkley entered the rod business, and the soft plastic business in the 1980s. Today, Berkley is a household name in fishing, and has launched some of the most iconic names in fishing: Trilene, PowerBait, Maxscent, Fireline, and Gulp!
