Same Ol Same OlAfter 1 years use, I really like the features and design of this scale, however just like ever other digital fish scale I have purchased, i have many, it is not very accurate. Constantly 6 to 7 oz's light per fish. How they get away with using this in professional fishing tournaments with a 100,000 bucks on the line is beyond me.
A season in and it’s goodI like my Bubba scale. It’s easier to add, cull and remove weights than the standard Rapala Pro scale is. The ergonomics are way better, the LED lighting is more crisp. Battery life is good, I’m getting most of a season on a good set of lithium batteries. I can’t attest to the waterproofing, mines been in light rain and gotten wet from weighing limits during rapid fire cull sessions on spotted bass fisheries…but I also keep it in a small dry bag when stored in the boat.
I do think my buddies Rapala scale is slightly more accurate in overall weight. The Bubba does fall within its claimed error range tho which is fine…weighing fish is consistent and quite frankly, it doesn’t really matter if you’re a few ounces short or high so long as every fish you weigh is the same result. So far, my Bubba has been good on that.
Very inconsistentWas really excited about this scale being easy to use and sonewhat water resistant . After several usages i have found it gives ver inconsistent weights, meaning one time ill weigh a fish and it reads 3lbs and then i weigh it again and it reads 3.4 lbs. Do not recommend this scale. Have to stick w the Rapale which im also not a fan of but it is consistent .
DisappointedExtremely disappointed in the results for $100. My scale is consistently .75 - 1 pound off on 5-fish limits and individual fish weigh different amounts. As long as it didn’t get wet, the Rapala scale is much better. Now, I wonder what weights MLF pros really have…
The Most CONVENIENT Scale...I will start this review by noting that I have had (and still have) two different Rapala tournament scales, and a catch commander. Out of the four I own, I have grown to trust this one. If you're tired of burning tournament time up waiting for your Rapala scale to weigh your fish, just go ahead, bite the bullet, and get this scale. The first time you are on a fired- up school and seconds matter, this scale will pay for it's self. Paired with the cull tags, it makes culling effortless.
Now... for the negative... Account for this scale weighing about 4%-6% heavy. The 19.2 it SAYS you have, will be about 18.6 at the scales. This isn't just my scale either. After taking two unofficial polls, at two different tournaments, using two different tournament scales, the common consensus among Bubba Pro owners, was that their scale said they had more than what they ended up with.
Not the end of the world, but not a deal- breaker anyway. The ease of use and convenience makes up for the weight issue.
Don’t get it wet!!Worked great until we used it in the rain and then it didn’t!!
nice scaleWell built scale, very easy to handle have no problem weighing fish offshore but when its in my boat any little movement scale is bouncing around a weight and has a tough time auto locking.
So Far so Good!I have had now for about 4-5 months. Holding up well to lots of tournament usage. Pretty close to tournament scales.
Really nice ScaleI really like the weight and feel of this scale. It is well made should last a long time if you take care of it, just like anything else. Overall very pleased with this product.
Not water resistant, much less waterproofThis scale works well until it is exposed to high moister air. Water/ condensation will develop under the screen making it unreadable and the scale will no longer function as designed.
If you can keep it in a climate controlled environment, it works great. If you fish in adverse conditions, not so much.
I have attempted to file a warranty claim with them. We shall see if anything comes of it.
Not waterproof!I have been through a couple now. They are not waterproof. They are defective and Bubba knows this and will even tell you so. They are working on fixing the issue but until they do you will not have a waterproof scale. Also, mine is a bit glitchy and when you zero it out and then go to clip a fish it will freeze in that process and say 2 ounces and you will have to power off and back on and repeat until that no longer happens.
Great scale.. butLove the scale. This is incredibly accurate and for someone who is a pond hopper it's great to be able to store all my fish in rally mode. The one thing I don't like it for $100, you'd think at the very minimum it would connect to Bluetooth but that's just me. Overall great buy

Comments: Pros: I honestly don't think there is a better designed scale on the market. The Non-Slip Grip, Self-Adjusting LCD Screen, Tournament and Rally Weigh Modes and Waterproof Design are all outstanding. Looking at the Bubba Scale one might think it might be a little complicated to learn how to use and set up, but it's actually very easy to go through all the features of this scale, very easy to use, set up and responds quickly. This scale also seems to be within the +/- 0.3 lbs accuracy that Bubba claims, of which if my math is right = +/- 4.8oz, just from weighing a couple of things of known weight. Cons: It's a little misleading that they claim this scale comes with a Storage Bag, the "Storage Bag" is a zip lock bag that the gill hook comes in. For $99.95 you would think it would come in a nice storage bag to keep the scale in and to protect it somewhat. Overall, excellent design, excellent features, ease of use. Really the only two things I would like to see in future models, if there is such a plan, is an actual storage bag and maybe get the accuracy down to +/- 0.1 lbs.

Comments: I Just got the 99$ model in the mail today, Definitely the quality and feel that Bubba brings to the table! I verified the readings using a gram scale that is used in a professional setting, I weighed multiple items and then hung them on the bubba scale the worst variance was .02 light all the rest fell right at or within .01 light well within the advertised variance bubba really hit the nail on the head with this one!
