Good conceptGood concept. I want to like it. But the hook is straight up garbage.
#1 Weedless Weighted Wacky Hook !The Core Tackle Weedless Straight Shank Wacky Shot Hook is phenomenal for casting to boat docks, brush piles, and deeper grass edges. The fall rate reaches suspended bass more efficiently, and covers water better than other brands. The screw, on the shaft, holds soft stick baits in place, for precise bait presentations,; while the weed guard protects the hook point from snagging. Killer on largemouth and spotted bass ! This has now become my favorite weedless weighted wacky hook for deeper water applications ! FISH ON !
Great hookThis new idea presents the bait in a new way. Very sheep hook and very strong.
Weedguard needs a better designUsed weedless version on a shallow, hydrilla and lily pad infested lake. Despite an early Spring warming trend, moving baits were not producing any bites. So decided to try the 1/28 weedless wacky hook with a 6” stick worm, caught three bass on the first 10 casts. Hook holds the soft plastic very well as long as the plastic has a large diameter. Screw look is too big for trick worm style plastic. Hookup was great, all fish hooked in roof of the mouth. My only criticism is the weed guard was bent beyond repair after just three 2 lb bass.I was able to bend it back into place after first fish but after 3rd fish it was too bent to straighten back into shape. Seems like a Fluorocarbon weed guard would be a better idea. The non weedless version is easier to use since you don’t have to twist the soft plastic in the small gap between the hook point and the hook shank.
