Great Travel Rod - Caught a ton of fishI paired two of these rods with some Shimano Vanford 2500 reels that I normally use back home. Over a couple of days, I caught more than 100 white bass and a few walleye throwing 3/8- and 1/2-ounce blade baits. During that time, I also snagged six large carp and one bigmouth buffalo that was over 20 pounds. I took the rods bass fishing as well, using a wacky-rigged Senko, and caught around 10–15 bass. The rod action was a little heavy for the Senko presentation, but I could still feel the bites clearly and had no problem setting the hook.

Great Travel Rod - Caught a Ton of FishI got 2 of the 7' Medium rod and paired it with a Shimano Vanford 2500 reel. The rod acts more like a medium heavy rod. On a trip to Nebraska i caught over a 100 white bass on blade baits from 3/8 to 1/2 ounce and threw a 3/4 ounce tail spin too. The rod did great with these baits. While fishing for whites I snagged 5 or 6 carp and one giant big mouth buffalo fish that weighed over 20 pounds. This rod did great. I even caught around 15 largemouth on a wacky worm, but the rod isn't ideal for that but i did feel the bite and landed most of the bass.

Best travel rod i have ownedIf you need one rod to do it all while traveling this is the one. I have had it around the world fishing many fresh and salt water species since 2015. Landed fish over 30 lbs with no problem. The ferrule system is absolutely perfect and never gets stuck. Sensitive top and heavy bottom, it is a quality fishing rod for the price. The only negative i can give it is for the hook holder, which grabs the line sometimes. I just took it off.

Comments: Awesome travel rod and case for the money. Has a distinct JDM look, a little on the heavy side but otherwise stellar. You'd easily be fouled to think it was a one piece.

Comments: Amazing travel rod. It seems a bit stiffer than the specs, its hard to cast something less than 3/8 oz with any sort of distance but it bombs a 1/2oz spinnerbait a mile. It put the work on a 40lb carp for me yesterday, very good rod for the price.
