Comments: The Kaden 744c is a chatterbait rod. It has a soft tip and a smooth transition to backbone. Supposedly these rods have a faster tip than the Sierra but I don't know what they're calling fast about it unless it's because it gets to power so "fast" due to the soft tip, I had assumed it was going be a stiffer tip when I ordered it. I paired mine up with a Zillion SV TW and it's an epic combo.

Comments: I bought the 7-foot 6-inch MH Flipping stick, and I love it. For those who have held the MH Fury flipping stick, the Kaden is a little less powerful, a lot less weight, and significantly more sensitive. I consider the Fury MH flipping stick more as a heavy action. I consider the Kaden a little bit more powerful than your average MH flipping stick. For reference here, I have Daiwa and Abu Garcia flipping sticks. The tip is really the sweet spot here. It really seems to pitch a low trajectory with a 1/2 oz jig, and makes soft entries very easy. I have it paired with a Tatula Type R, and they match beautifully (if you care about aesthetics). I plan to use the stick for pitching and swim jigs. It would work for frogs as well, but if you want the ultimate frog and toad rod, I love the Abu Veritas PLX TE in the 7-foot 6 MH (lightest flipping stick I have felt). Just thinking about that rod makes me want to go frogging. I digress. Buy this Kaden rod if you are wondering if you should pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

Comments: Need a rod to fish single hook reaction baits like buzzbaits, spinnerbaits or chatterbaits? One that can also throw a bigger topwater like the Super Spook or a smaller frog in open water? Maybe even throw a small line thru swimbait? Look no further than the Kaden 744C. I've been a fan of the 734 Champion for a long time and picked up the 744 on a whim last year. It's quickly become my go to buzzbait and spinnerbait rod. I've caught them up to 8 on this rod and it's performed well. I used it this spring to throw a 3.8 or 4.3 Keitech on a heavy ballhead on 17lb fluoro for spots and it did the job no issues. For the guys who like to throw an Alabama style swim jig in shallow water with braid, this could be your deal with the 1/4-3/8oz baits.

Comments: I purchased the 744 as a replacement for my St Croix Avids which was a great full cork handle rod. The reel seats appears to be identical, and the cork handle is almost identical. I actually prefer the Kaden. That said, this is a tremendous rod! Love it. Super versatile. Have fished it hard, no issues. I now own 4, one 745, one 743, three 735s and a 715 for the old lady. All within the last year. If you are a full handle guy, I don't believe you will be disappointed in this rod. The actions are spot on and I can throw them all day. No weight issues and match up nicely with a curado k. The Dobyns website also lists a medium crankbait rod not shown here. In my opinion, can't go wrong with these. Well done Dobyns. Viva la full handle!

Comments: I'll start by saying Dobyns customer service is like no other, regardless if you're a tournament angler or just starting out fishing, they will treat you fair. I own 3 kaden series rods: 743, 745, 765Flip. The kevlar wrap holds up on these rods. Flipping all day in florida with a 3/4oz tungsten weight puts a beating on a rod, but the 765Flip does it all day long with no excuses. And it shows up on time the next day, too. The 743 slings a spinnerbait a mile and had just the right amount of give to drive a hook home on a single hook moving bait without ripping it away from the fish. Lastly, the 745 is the best rod I've found for frogging and burning Big EZ's. The length lets you bomb cast, and the action and tip are perfect for setting the hook like you mean it when one blows up on your frog or EZ. The guides stay put and are smooth as butter. The full cork handle is the cherry on top to a rod that is better than it should be for the price. I don't waste time shopping around other brands anymore. Dobyns has me by the britches.

Comments: Experience with Dobyns from Fury - Xtasy. Have the 745 Kaden. For how much power it has, it's a fairly versatile rod. Have used with a Tatula 150 with 15# Yozuro Hybrid exclusively for glides from 1-2 oz. Handles 2 oz glides fairly well. Most experience has been with a Curado DC with 30# braid. I enjoy both reel's profile and weight fits and balances well with this rod for me personally. 110 and 130 ploppers, spooks, other various 110-120 walking topwaters. 3/8-1/2 oz swim jig/grass/punching jigs. The tip is softer than expected which I like, since my reaction time with a jig is not the greatest. Gives the delay I need for hooksets without the rod involuntarily jacking the fish before I'm hookset ready. I've burned swim jigs over and through emergent vegetation, locked down drag with exceptional hookups. It's also handle big paddle tails well and moderate weight t-rigs in a pinch. I will be trying a champ 736 for heavy cover big frogging and flipping next year. Need an inch shorter for walking frogs and a little more power for dirty jigs no-jack jigs in the heaviest of cover. probably not needed if you have average male strength, but I'm extremely weak due to multiple major physical traumas that I haven't recovered from. It's hard to say what line of Dobyns brings the best price value. You can argue any series does, from Fury all the way up to the Extremes. This Kaden allowed me a utility without sacrificing too much of their higher end comfort. This rod has exceptional tip and power for the price. Every time I try a new brand, I regret it. Dobyns just suits what I prefer for performance, durability, comfort & the best service bar none. I consult with them before every purchase. Sometimes it's not necessary, but they're always patient and fun to talk shop with.

Comments: I have the 714, 743, and 610-4CB, and have a season and a half on each. Great rods. I use the 610-4CB exclusively for jerkbaits (mostly vision 110) with 12# fluoro and I don't know how it could be better as a jerkbait rod, especially for the price. 743 is versatile - you can use it for spinnerbaits, paddle tails, etc. but I think it shines with a finesse reel for flukes, senkos, light jigs. The length gives you the leverage to hook set light jigs even though it's a 3 power. The 714 is the rod I use most. I like to flip, skip, and roll cast to shallow targets and this is the rod for that. Great rod for swim jigs, spinner baits, buzzbaits on fluoro. I use it for jigs too, but I will say it's Action, not power, is a little bit slow for jigs. That said, it being a little on the slower side of "Fast Action" is what makes it a great skipping and casting rod. In totality, it fishes like an all purpose medium heavy IMO, and is the best rod in that category I've used.

From: Brian: Connecticut 7/21/22

Comments: Got the Dobyns Kaden Casting Rod 7'1" Hvy ( 714 Kaden) and its very light and balanced with an sv tatula. Used a buzzbait for a little bit but in a pinch used it for a light paddle tail swimbait. Despite being a heavy it still cast well. Very versatile rod, I wouldn't say it fishes lighter than a heavy.

From: Tom: Illinois 6/1/22

Comments: The Kaden is a phenomenal rod! I have the 7'1" MH. Good all-purpose rod. I like everything about this rod and is as good quality as any Dobyns I have ever owned all the way to the top.

From: Coach: Shell Knob, MO 2/23/22

Comments: I bought the MH Flip, I use for light duty flipping and pitching. Sensitive and sturdy for sure, plus like all Dobyns rods it has excellent balance. I love this rod and I will be buying more Kadens to add to my collection of Dobyns. Dobyns are the only rods I purchase anymore.

From: Scott: Lacon, IL 9/19/21

Comments: Awesome rod , light weight and great sensitivity. I got the 714 for jigs and shaky heads

From: Jacob: Unknown 7/20/21

Comments: Picked up two of this series so far, 735cb and the 745c. I really like them. I own a few rods in every line that Dobyna makes except the Xtasy, and these stack really nicely against the Champion XP.  I like my Sierras, and my ol' Savvy 734 is the definition of workhorse. But the Kadens blend the fast action of the Sierra with the softer tip of the Champion. I've primarily deployed my 735 as a Spook rod, and it's been doing that very well. Definitely capable for a bigger (2.5 size) squarebill and heavier traps. The 745 has proven super versatile, and will replace several of my Fury and Sierra sticks...great butt with a softer tip, fished it from topwater to dragging swing heads first trip out and it did both pretty well

From: Cheis: Lancaster, PA 6/10/21

Comments: I absolutely adore my 713c. I used it for smaller finesse jigs on the clear lake near me. Looks great, and has an amazing tip that that makes feel like a pro casting lighter lures. I really like how the rod loads up. Even smaller fish, or when a fish charges the angler they still feel under load. Id loved to get another.

From: Josh: IL 4/12/21

Comments: I own the KD735CB I intended for squarebills and traps and currently in the process of selling it for something else. I love the rod aesthetically, but it just feels dead running a squarebill on the bottom or burning a Damiki Tremor 65. I can detect the vibration on the lipless by lifting the rod tip quickly and letting it fall, but not burning and pausing, weird. I would not recommend using this rod for SK 1.5 or LC 1.5 size squarebills, they did not load the rod well and caused some inaccurate casts and backlash, even with a curado DC. I think this rod would fare much better with bigger cranks like 2.5 and up. This wasn't meant to be a negative review, but for shallow 1.5 squarebills, I would think there are better options.

From: Ray: TX 4/3/21

Comments: Iv not used a rod from Dobyns that I haven't liked yet!!!  Just got the 744 and it's butter!!! I like a full handle as well , they all come with full handles!!! The action on this rod is perfect!! It's balanced and as all Dobyns, quality it's better than any rod on the market at this price point!!! I'd be hard pressed to make me choose another brand!! Tossed a whopper plopper fist day and it felt killer ... and again the action on this is just what I needed!! Great all around rod!!  Will buy more from Dobyns in the future !! #1 in my book!!!

From: Justin: Minnesota 4/1/21

Comments: I went with three Kadens right off the get go, the 610-4CB, 713C and the 744C. The rods striking to look at, perfectly balanced and come with faster actions. The blanks are unsanded which only adds durability and strength. The powers are consistent with the Champion series. These rods have active tips but lock and transition into power quicker than the Sierra counter parts. The Sea Guides will surprise you as many rod builders tout them as more durable than Fuji equivalents.  Mine are built on the spline, have super quality cork and fish beyond great.  This is a no risk purchase.  You'll like what you select.
