Comments: I was in the market for a finesse spinning Outfit. I got a Shimano Vanford reel and Started looking for a res and black rod, wasn't that impressed with the feel of the Shimano Zodiac, but the Diawa Tatula felt better and I was Looking at the $150 price point and came across the Dobbyns, it was a little higher but less Than the Zodias. It just felt perfect and the cork was beautiful.as nice as any price rod's cork. It's a great combo, I'm definitely happy with the Kaiden.

Comments: 713, great rod, light soft tip that goes straight to power. Going to try shaky headed tomorrow on it but been throwing wacky yum dinger in Curtisfoil just fine. The only thing I hate is the odd number, well why not 7ft or 7.2 ft lol great rod .

Comments: Just wanted to comment to clear up any confusion on the power of the 713sf. It's a true medium power. But is also a legitimate mod/fast action. Doesn't over power your hooks and line diameter that a mh power rod might. Balance is great and sensitivity is great.

Comments: Saved up my money and bought a vanford, so I decided to get a kaden. Aesthetically, it's perfect. Colors match flawlessly, and it feels good in hand. Decided to drop shot at a local pond with it, since the ML seemed perfect for the task. 5 minutes in, my drop shot caught on a single blade of grass. Not a tule or hyacinth, or anything strong, just a flimsy blade of yard grass. Apparently the kaden identifies as a dried spaghetti noodle, because it fell apart. It didn't snap, there was no noise, just a silent detaching of the top 1/3 of the rod. I'm hoping I got a dud, or maybe it was damaged in shipping, but overall I'm very dissatisfied with the kaden. As a side note, I'm very light on my rods; I use rod sleeves, store them in rod holders, and rarely flip fish to the bank or boat. I've only broken a zebco and a 13 fishing, when I accidentally dropped it on a rock. Not sure what I did wrong but hopefully I can get my money back. If it was a QC error and I end up with a replacement I'll update, but I may stay away from dobyns in the future. UPDATE: I sent it back and TW replaced it for free - they have a great return policy. I decided to get the same model, and after a little over a month with it I'd say I'm impressed. Comfortable grip, light, sensitive, and matches with the vanford perfectly. As others have said, the medium light fishes more like a medium, maybe a little softer. Definitely stronger than the previous one I had - I've flipped a couple fish, including a 3 pounder I thought was smaller, but my line snapped before my rod did. Glad I tried it again, this rod has become my #1 all around spinning.

Comments: Picked up this as my first Dobyn's rod, and after reading the reviews and a little time on the water I will saw that I'm happy with the decision. I waffled between the medium light and the medium and opted for the medium. I was worried that the rod might be overpowered for what I was intending it for, and while it is more stout than most mediums, I found it to be almost a medium and a half. It feels pretty solid and definitely feels in hand like a medium heavy but in my opinion fishes a little softer than a medium heavy. Very sensitive, light and well balanced. I was throwing tail weighted (1/16 oz) soft plastics and it was flingin em pretty good and I was getting a good feel for what the bait was doing. I am happy with my purchase.

Comments: Everyone is spot on. Great rod but it's a bit more stout than other Medium power spinning rods in their lineup. I'd go med/light if you want to throw tiny swimbaits or neds. Medium feels seems a bit too stout for those smaller hooks. SUPER sensitive and well built though!

Comments: Dobyns makes great rods, period. That said, I think it's important to know that their new Kaden series is not true to their standard power ratings. The 713 is more true to a 4 power (MH) than a true 3 power Medium. It may be the kevlar wrapping that bulks up the power but if you're familiar with the Sierra or Champion "3" power spinning rods, you may want to drop down to a "2" power for the Kaden series. The only other thing worth noting is top of the reel seat barely gets tightens down to the threads on some reels (ex. Abu Garcia MGX30). This leaves your finger rubbing a bit where the seat/nut/blank come together. Other than that, the length is perfect, the aesthetics are crisp, and guides strong.

Comments: Picked up two 712SF rods. Much faster action than the Sierra series. Light, good tip and power was evident. Well built and finished. One for meds and one for drop shot

Comments: Awesome rod, has a little more power than the other two powers in their line but keeps a soft tip. Rod is very sensitive and I enjoy the unsanded blank.
