Overview
Blending power and sensitivity with an affordable price point, the Googan Squad Green Series Casting Rods are expertly designed through a collaboration with Catch Co. and the members of the Googan Squad. Built using Catch Co.’s Catch Smart system to help simply your fishing experience, each rod has a rating system to help you better understand how well the rod will perform with specialized techniques. By grouping lure types into 5 basic categories and using a 4-star rating system printed directly on the blank, anglers can quickly recognize what lures the rod is best paired with for each category.
Featuring a composite 24/30-ton carbon blank for exceptional strength, sensitivity, and durability, the Green Series is fitted with ceramic insert guides for long casts and improved bite detection. Furnished with finely tuned ergonomic grips and a ‘click to lock’ reel seat, the EVA foam and composite cork grips provide all-day comfort and sleek aggressive styling. Complete with a measuring tape on the rod so you can verify your next PB, the Googan Squad Green Series Casting Rods are also colored green from the end of the rod tip to show you how the rod is tapered and will bend under load.

Comments: I have the 7'2" Medium Heavy / Moderate "Reaction" model. I wanted a moderate tapered rod for throwing squarebills targeting large and small mouth bass. Crankbaits are not a "confidence" technique of mine, but once in a while I am in a situation where it is the best choice so I wanted an affordable dedicated rod. For under 100 bucks, this rod is a pretty good value. If I was a more serious crankbait angler I would definitely spend the money on something a bit nicer like a glass rod from Shimano. I have had this rod since they came out originally and so far it seems durable, but as I said I dont use it very often so I cant speak to how well it stand up to heavy use. If you are just getting into crankbaits and find that your fast action rods are ripping the hooks out of the fish's mouth, but you are like me and don't use them very often, this is a good choice.

Comments: I bought the 7'2" med/mod. I love this rod! It exceeded my expectations. Its very light, casts great, and plenty sensitive. The first fish I caught on it was a 9.5lb flathead. The rod did great pulling in that fish.
