Overview
The next step in the evolution of lipless crankbaits, the Livingston Lures Pro Ripper blends classic lipless appeal with a number of advanced technologies to really get bass biting. Perfect for targeting all levels of the water column, the Livingston Lures Pro Ripper delivers a high-frequency action that can be yo-yo’d off the bottom and ripped through grass to trigger aggressive reaction strikes.
Unlike other lipless crankbaits that rely on plain, traditional rattles to attract, the Livingston Lures Pro Ripper employs Livingston Lures’ EBS (Electronic Baitfish Sound) technology to create a distinct acoustic footprint. Unique to Livingston Lures, the EBS Technology imitates the sounds of a panicked baitfish with a one-of-a-kind “croaking noise” emitted from an advanced sound chamber. Offered in a number of proven bass colors, the Livingston Lures Pro Ripper delivers iconic lipless attraction with a new age twist.
EBS Technology: Built into Livingston Lures’ original lineup of lures, EBS (Electronic Baitfish Sound) technology is an advanced internal acoustic system that emulates the natural sound of a panicked baitfish. Activated once the bait hits the water, EBS technology consists of a sounder, smart chip, and advanced rattles that work in unison to create a unique tonal agitation. Effective in all fishing conditions, the EBS technology really begins to shine in dirty or dark waters where predators rely on sound before sight to feed. Once it is out of the water and dry, the EBS technology automatically powers down to preserve battery life.
Tones:
EBS Original - The tone that started it all, EBS original is the one used by Randy Howell to win the 2014 Bassmasters Classic on Lake Guntersville. Designed to imitate the sounds of a distressed baitfish, EBS original appeals to all species of fish and is capable of getting the job done in a wide-range of conditions.

Comments: I had some spare time this past weekend so I went to my pond and threw a bunch of lipless baits. I noticed this one had a very cool action when you paused it (only for a brief second) while reeling. Now I need to see what the fish think!

Comments: I got a Livingston pro ripper and it doesn't work right out of the package. I have another one and it makes one sound , not 3 like the package says. Pure junk. Save your money.

Comments: best lipless by far I have ever fished with I have caught two 8lbers on it and one 10lber with this lure.

Comments: I've had some very great results with this bait in all sorts of conditions. I definitely do believe that the EBS technology assists in catching fish when they don't want to fully commit, but I like this lure because it's got a bit of a smaller profile than other rattle baits I have used, and it's a little more or in some cases a lot more subtle. It's definitely an eye catching lure & it has and continues to catch fish. I've got 3 of these, 2 are a year old & the other is 7 months old the EBS is still croaking strong and they are steadily producing. The only negative I have are the hooks have bent on me a few times on my first one so I went ahead and replaced all the hooks on them just to stay on the safe side

Comments: I'm not impressed. It's labeled as 1/2 oz. above, but the actual package lists it as 2/5 oz. This probably explains why I couldn't keep contact with the bottom when fishing grass in about 8 feet of water - even on 10-lb fluorocarbon. Not only do i feel that I have more depth control with other models such as the Strike King Red Eye Shad, but the first time i took this lure out, the EBS was going haywire when it was out of the water. It would croak for several seconds, stop for a while, then make sputtering noises like a shad having an aneurism.

Comments: Bought 3 of these on the cheap from a fellow fishing buddy. Put them up against an Excalibur and H20 branded lipless and it got outfised by both. I've tried several times to give these things a chance and they disappoint me every time. Your money is better spent elsewhere. They just don't out fish other brand and cost twice as much.

Comments: A friend gave me one he won somewhere & the only advantage I get from it is that it seems to run a little more shallow than other lipless cranks I throw. It is wider than most with a little more 'hollow' lighter feel. Might just be my imagination, but seems better in skinny water than some... The croaking sound(like a frog) is extremely faint & at such spaced out intervals that I don't suspect it's getting the bass's attention fast enough to make a difference over the normal vibrating attraction of a lipless. Like Jay said, I don't find myself reaching for it often.....

Comments: A Livingston Rep gave me one about a year ago. Mine doesn't make a croaking sound or whatever they are suposed to make, but I have caught fish on it. I dont find myself reaching for it over my other rattlebaits though.
