Overview

Perfect when the bite is tough or if the fish are targeting smaller forage, the Lucky Craft Pointer Deep Diver 65 Jerkbait is identical in weight and body shape to the original Pointer 65 but dives deeper and has wider 'walk-the-dog' style action with each twitch of the rod tip. The Pointer Deep Diver 65 features the legendary internal brass weight transfer system that's well known to the Pointer jerkbait line, and is designed to create a vibration-emitting wobble action as it suspends during the pause, triggering aggressive bites from any nearby trout, walleye, perch, or bass. Equipped with two razor-sharp VMC treble hooks and is designed to keep fish pinned on longer casts, deeper water, and lighter lines, the Lucky Craft Pointer Deep Diver 65 Jerkbait is ready to fill up your livewell with more fish when they are holding deeper and under heavy fishing pressure.

Great Small Baitfish ImitationBought it last year, used it all spring, then melted in my box over summer. Great small forage imitatior that got bit. It’s more of a crank than a jerkbait since it rose kind of fast, but with some tuning, you could turn it into a true suspending lure. Don’t leave this in hot places. It was 110 degrees out and I forgot about my box in my boat under a shaded patio and it melted. Out of all my Nanahans and LC 78s, I was lucky that this was the only one I lost, but it couldn’t have been much higher than 110 in my boat compartments since it was in a shaded area.

I’ve used the JDM versionThis has been available from Japanese tackle shops for a while. I haven’t found any conditions yet where it catches bass at a better rate than the 78DD. Trout seem to hit it a little more at a lake I fish that has lots of bass and trout. The 65 size works about the same as the 78. I have no idea why LC would bother to bring this here when they so seldom re-stock USA retailers with the 78 and 100DD’s. These sizes are more versatile and can be used better with baitcasters. What purpose is there for another size that will soon likely be back-ordered for multiple years? Just give us more colors of the 78 and a shot at actually ordering them yearly.
