Overview
Expanding on Megabass' wildly popular Sleeper Series, the Megabass Sleeper Gill Swimbaits now offer anglers an alternative profile to target those panfish-gobbling bass. Featuring an adaptation of their signature dorsal fin weedguard, the Sleeper Gill can be cast in those cover-choked waters where other baits fear to swim while still maintaining an incredibly natural profile that will fool the most veteran fish in your water. Just under the concealed hook, the body relies on a hollow zone that quickly compresses to convert more bites and optimize your hook-up ratios.
Just like their Dark Sleeper cousins, the Megabass Sleeper Gill Swimbaits rely on a low center of gravity design with pectoral fin balancers that collaborate to maintain bottom-contact swimming stability. This construction allows for stealthy approaches through complex structure while enabling the Sleeper Gills to remain upright in a foraging position on the pause. To the rear of the meticulously detailed gill-style body, bass will be mesmerized by the highly responsive tail that imparts a gentle wag when crawled along the bottom and an excited kick when swam along higher in the water column. A productive alternative to traditional swimbaits, the Megabass Sleeper Gill Swimbaits’ unrivaled realism and alluring slow-retrieve capabilities make them a deadly addition to any swimbait arsenal.

Comments: Definitely like the Dark Sleeper a lot better. This ones hook just does not want to stay in between the top fin. It is not nearly as weedless as the dark Sleeper and rips a lot easier imo.

Comments: I think this is a gimmick lure. Bought this lure from all the hype and decided to throw it exclusively for a fishing trip. Saved from being skunked late in the trip when I gave up and used a spinnerbait instead. It's really just a smaller version of the Mattlures ultimate bluegill only that I did get bit on that larger lure and so far not once on this. Thank God I only bought 1 of these. I had the Gill version and the bluegill in this lake look like this pattern but maybe I should have bought the Gizzard to be safer.

Comments: I've got two of the Gills. While I've probably not spent the time I should have using them so far, one thing I've noted is these have been far more snagless than the Dark Sleeper for me. I've had 5 or so of the Sleeper and 3 are sitting in watery graves, typically after less than 20 minutes of fishing them as they were designed. I've thrown the gill almost as much and have yet to lose one in similar conditions. These also swim nice and stay upright onna slow roll, which can be a challenge on gill profile baits. Not the most durable but worth $10 given your average bite is better quality on these.

Comments: Very life like with good paddle kick & wobble action, they catch good fish. The eyes seem to fall off easy on the sleeper gill and I have ripped one pretty bad trying to unhook it. Overall the pros outweigh the cons... Have a sharpie/dye to redo the eye and be gentle unsnagging them!

Comments: This bait is extremely versatile. You can bottom hop it if the fish aren't as active. But a slow to medium steady retrieve was the ticket for me. I caught over 15 fish (2-3 pound range) between the two I bought. Every single fish engulfed the entire bait. Probably could've caught 30 had I not broke both of them off on what felt like two really solid fish. Had I been throwing them on 15-17lb test and not 12 I don't think I would had an issue. Got 8 more on the way!

Comments: I bought the sleeper gill in a lake store and I am so glad I found it. My pond has a similar colored blue gill. This was the most consistent lure all winter long. I was fishing it fairly fast and it had more winter bites than my Megabass 110 jerk bait. The top fin covering the hook ripped a little, but that's because I had so many bites. .

Comments: Brought some of these to a recent trip to Mexico and they did not disappoint. The best results were with a very slow retrieve with occasional stops. As long as you are bumping bottom you will get bit!

Comments: Just throwing this out there for those who are looking to try this out or the dark sleeper .. these are designed to be fished LIKE A JIG. Sure.. you can try to swim these through the water column but they are best used making bottom contact.

Comments: killed the largemouth on these today first time out......at 3/4 oz I thought it would be too heavy and boy was I wrong I was fishing it below a spillway with a ton of snags in 3' or less water on a medium action m1 Phenix rod with ease..........the action is amazing ..... the only thing I did was cut the top fin off exposing the hook and had 0 problems with it snagging.......what a great bait.....ohh it outfished kietech 3.8 swimbaits, i caught quite a few more than my buddy throwing the kietech, same area, same everything

Comments: I like the unique wave of the tail over other soft swimbaits, BUT... I am very disappointed with the paint peeling off the head and belly after just a few casts, I would expect more durability from Megabass. After a half hour of casting with no hookups, this lure looks like an old, favorite lure of a musky fisherman.

Comments: Great action but not durable, the weedless fins keep catching onto the hook. I got bit once, set the hook, and the tail came off making it basically useless, I mightve just gotten unlucky so I picked up 1 more, hoping for the best

Comments: At 3/4 oz, it's a little heavy for the shallow grass I fish. Bluegill is probably 80% of their diet where I fish, but they just slap at this thing. It swims weird at different speeds...try it out in a pool and see what I mean. I am unsure on this bait at the moment and glad I only got two. The Dark Sleeper was a hit right out the gate...time will tell on this one.

Comments: The sleeper hill swims great, but you have to constantly fix the top fin that hides the hook. The hook always pops out after any contact with cover or grass etc.

Comments: This bait is great. The tail provides a nice thump which can be felt through the rod. It swims well at most speeds. Seems to be pretty durable. IMO $10 is a fair price point. The only negative I have at the moment is the weed guard. The hook escapes the top of the fin guards so easily. A strong cast even seems to get it out of whack. Once its out the bait seems to veer off left or right on the retrieve. Ive gotten to where I check it before each cast, which can be annoying. Other than that its a good swimbait.

Comments: At first I was skeptical about another bright colored lure attracting more bites by anglers than bass. As it was released I'm sure everyone saw these get sold out and skyrocketed on Amazon. That being said I had a chance to get my hands on the Glitter Noike Gill. I went to a local pond looking for a Topwater bite , but wind picked up and thought let's try that Sleeper Gill???? Tied it on 65lb PowerPro/Lews SuperDuty 8:3:1 /7'5 Extra Heavy. Funny enough my 2nd cast I got smashed bye a 3lb LM Second cast got cracked bye a 2 1/2 LM, few cast later watched a 2lb smash it as I was slow rolling it along the bank line. Needless to say this little gill was a sleeper in my bag of tackle that day. I had so much fun getting bit on the Sleeper Gill I couldn't put it down. I am looking forward to these becoming more widely available to the public in the near future. (4/5 stars) for the Sleeper Gill only downside is availability & would like to see them come in 1oz size

Comments: Megabass did a great job marketing and hyping these things up. They look great underwater and have a great subtle tail action that looks very natural. Unfortunately that's about it for the pros. This thing broke the nose off after about 5 casts and the plastic is just not durable at all. For $10 they should at least last 5-10 trips. Mine is already in the garbage. Rest in pieces little gill
