Hooks are trashLook I love the karashi, caught more smallmouth than I can count on the 80mm and 60mm. The 80mm hooks are great but these hooks on the 60mm suck. Catch a decent size bass and the hooks bend all the time. I actually broke one of the hooks off just pulling it out of a 1lb smallmouth. I know these hooks are supposed to be more of a "finesse" style but having to bend the hooks back into shape every other fish is ridiculous. Only reason for 2 instead of 1is the tinsel is already attached. I hate having to do it on small trebles.
Flash / BendGreat flash from the tensil but the hook themselves will not hold up. They will straighten out at the most inopportune moment!
Keep an original treble for referenceFinally! Replacement dressed treble hooks for the Karashi. The tinsel on these are longer than how they come on the bait, so keep an original around so you can trim them down to the right length for the intended Karashi action.
Replacement hooksYes, we all realize these hooks are fragile, but most of us realize they’re fine wire to easily penetrate the mouths. Especially when the bass don’t engulf the lure and make swaths at the lures. Especially small lures like the Karashi and the equipment used should match the lures you’re throwing. It’s a delicate technique with a more limber rod rather than dragging them in when using a jig with 50 pound braid. I’ve even purchased a stronger hook for a replacement just in case and the flash materials to tie on for the rear hook, but I haven’t had any problems with damaged hooks and it seems easier to just purchase the original replacements.
TrebleThese treble hooks are very fragile to say the least! You would think that a lure costing 20.00 that the hooks would last longer than what they do cmon Megabass .than you have the balls to charge 7.00 dollars for two replacement hooks .ridiculous .
