Overview
Created by Japan’s first spinnerbait maker Yuki Ito, the Megabass V9 Double Willow Spinnerbait delivers an innovative design and performance that will outfish all of your other spinnerbaits. Finely tuned through years of testing, the Megabass V9 Double Willow Spinnerbait features a totally original head design that is molded with a keeled bottom and a water through slit, which keeps it perfectly balanced at any speed and helps it quickly recover after deflecting off cover. It is also built around a uniquely shaped wire frame that is precisely bent to enhance vibration and allow the front running blade to make slight contact during every rotation to create a subtle clicking noise.
Offering the perfect balance between flash and vibration as well, the Megabass V9 Double Willow Spinnerbait is fitted with Yuki Ito’s custom shaped blades, which provide the benefits of multiple blade styles all in one. Its hand tied skirt sits on top of an ultra wide skirt keeper to ensure maximum flaring, while the large 3D eyes and molded gill plates provide an additional level of attraction. Complete with a long shank hook that provides optimal hook setting performance without the use of a trailer hook, the Megabass V9 Double Willow Spinnerbait delivers next-level performance that will become a staple in your tackle box.

Comments: I'm a Megabass fanboy and I REALLY wanted to love this spinnerbaits. It looks awesome and catches fish pretty well, but it doesn't consistently run true in the water, the coating peeled off of the blades after a handful of uses, and it snapped in half after a dozen fish. It's a great looking bait, so if you wanted to pick a spinnerbait to put in a shadow box and admire it, this is your daisy, but if you want to buy a high quality spinnerbait, well, pretty much anything else.

Comments: Did you not read previous reviews before buying? These spinnerbaits are among the best, BUT they do break. Think of it like a hand poured worm...better action, tears apart easily, cooler colors, and a little more costly. Yes, it's about 7-10 bucks more than what most people want to pay for a SB, but it is so worth it.

Comments: Absolute junk! Don't waste your money! The blades won't turn? Megabass will not even consider refunds or replacements either! I wrote them and they replied with no help whatsoever.

Comments: Nice running bait but they break with 1 or 2 fish caught ,very disappointing for what they cost I'll stay with War Eagle ,not buying any more V9 spinnerbaits

Comments: Very fragile bait but slays fish. Guys buy these 4-5 at a time because of this. If you are fishing for serious money, it is worth it.

Comments: Not gonna lie when I bought this bait I thought I was gonna love it because I really enjoy spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. However that wasn't the case which is unfortunate because I really love Megabass products in general. One thing I did see as an upside to the bait was it seems to cast further than other similarly weighted spinnerbaits that I own. But that's were the positives seem to stop. When you do retrieve the bait I find that it very rarely runs through the water correctly. It always seems to either lay flat as it's running back or it starts to quite literally spin the the water like a helicopter blade. Definitely would not recommend.

Comments: I wanted to love these baits...I wanted to. I fish ALOT of Megabass baits and this spinnerbait is not up to par with Megabass quality. Of the four I bought, only two are still in working order. The wire broke on one and the blade fell off on another. I never caught a fish on the one the wire broke on. I'll also add that I rarely fish with spinnerbaits so this was not a result of heavy use. Disappointed.

Comments: Japanese spinnerbaits vs american spinnerbaits! I like the megabass spinnerbait for it quality, durability, and tride and true straight retrieve! I believe this bait to be worth the extra $5 to $7 dollars over the american spinnerbaits because they last forever! (Unless you break off or snag) so it has a hand tied skirt, that lasts much longer! Tungsten head, doenst get smashed up like lead heads, great arm wire that can be bent back to perfection after numerous fish. and lastly the bend that holds the final top blade is welded shut so your blades will never fly off! Quality, durability, and performance is what you buy when you get Japanese tackle. The War Eagles are great baits but they do not last, blades fall off, wire breaks, and head gets smashed. You'll spend more in broken war eagles than buying one megabass that will out last the rest. for a double willow not specialty bladed spinnerbait, this is hard to beat! But do some searching and check out all the Japanese spinnerbaits, they are the best and other manufacturers have baits that work better in different fishing conditions! Recommended for the seasoned bass fishermen!

Comments: Picked one up just to see. Mostly because I liked the colorway. Hook seems fine. Good that the hook is black. Skirt seems ok. Cool color combo (pinkish colored one) but the skirt is nothing special. Would love to see some thinner silicone or some other feature of the skirt material since it is premium priced. The weld to keep the blades from coming off etc is a great feature. The blades look and feel CHEAP! They are not particularly flashy. They are thick. The plating on them is not smooth and you can tell it won't last long. Because of the cheap blades I won't buy again. It is unique though and will probably catch a bass or two and then break but that's ok as I expect most quality spinnerbaits to break/become unusable after 1-3 fish. All in all I would give it a solid 5 out of 10. If it had good blades it could be a ten but since I haven't thrown it yet and others say it doesn't run true maybe it would stay at a 5 even with better quality blades.

Comments: Surprisingly not what I would expect from Megabass. The blades are very cheap and will quickly peel and tarnish after a couple trips out. The bait does tend to roll. I do like the fact the wire eyelets and beads are soldered to the wire. Overall, would not recommend.adding this to your arsenal.

Comments: Slays largies. but the bait seems to roll on it side alot even at slow speeds. Tried to bend the wire around for like ten minutes. still does it. kind of a bendy wire on it. I think the first fish I caught on it jacked it up.

Comments: Agree with the review below. The front blade does not spin consistently. But the thing still gets bit and always runs true, regardless of retrieval speed.
From: Chris: Turlock, CA 4/30/19
Comments: Haven't had any problem with front blade. It spins at all speeds. Has a different feel with the blade shape. Reminds me of the feel of an Indiana blade almost but not quite as much thump. The fish like it so far but it's megabass so you have to pay up if you wanna give em a try. Not sure if it's gonna earn its price tag and be better than my usual go-to's but so far I feel it's different enough to have various applications. Wish they had a few more blade color choices in the white type skirts. Such as gold blades with a white and chart skirt. Overall been pleased with the two I've purchased. Caught around a dozen on one and no real damage to it so durability seems to be decent but the biggest fish on it so far are in the 3lb range. Another nice bait from Megabass

Comments: Bait runs true. However, the front blade has the nasty habit of not spinning at random times. Speed of retrieve doesn't seem to affect it. Kinda disappointed.
