Customer Reviews
7'8 heavygot the 7'8 heavy to take on a trip to the virgin islands for snook and tarpon, havnt left for that trip at the time of review but ive caught 30 to 40ish bass on it and a 4 foot alligator on accident with it and its very versitile and strong, its like a medium heavy tip section thats slightly on the soft side ,almost identical to my dobyns sierra 703 as far as the tip joint of the blank. it has a little bit of softness in the first 6inches of the second blank joint and then after that you get into backbone and shortly after you get into a very solid rod. so ive thrown a 3/16oz texas rigged creature with a 4/0 superline on it with ease and suprisingly accurately and have also thrown a 8inch magdraft on the heavy side of things. the tip is mushy for the 3oz bait but it works, the long handle helps alot i think. its a weird action but not unpleasant to fish with and also crazy that it can fish such a large range of baits. not perfect for any one thing but does everything pretty decently and is sensitive.
7'8" H RodGot the 7'8" Heavy rod for travel and planned to use it for medium swimbaits & large top waters. The action is on the slow side almost more of crankbait type action. Caught a few bass on it with a bluegill swimbait just under 2oz. Felt a little over loaded casting a 3oz top water. Will keep fish pinned well with the action, and probably make for a good large crankbait rod. Not to say there's necessarily anything wrong with the rod but it just didn't fit my intention all that well. I think the listed specs might be little misleading. If you are looking to use baits towards the higher end of the rating in the 3-4oz range I would recommend either trying the heavier rods in this line or something different entirely.
Favorite Spinnerbait RodThe 65MH is an amazing all around rod but I am loving it for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. It is way more sensitive than I expected and it doesn’t feel like a 4 piece at all. I kept forgetting it wasn’t a 1 piece. Would highly recommend.

Comments: The VKC-80XXH-4 is a legit big bait rod. It handles baits from 3-8oz easy and will fish those weights super comfortably, has a pretty fast taper great for heavier soft baits like 8 or 10 inch hudds or mags but will fish a big glide well to. 25lb-30lb line rod in my opinion, has a ton of reserve power when you need it. This rod launches baits out over the horizon and I'm impressed with its performance.
