Comments: I bought two 200 size Fathom LP. For a 200-size reel, it is amazingly palmable. The gear is very smooth and it cast all my lures that weight 3/8 ounze and above very well. An important thing to note is that if I do not use centrifugal brake and only use the magentic one, I get backlash pretty frequently. Using two (out of six) centrifgal brake setting solve the problem completely.

Comments: I own the 200 and it cast large lures and handles big fish without an issue. The reel is lighter than the Lexa 300 HD as well and palms easily. Revo inshore guys know you do not need a 300 size reel to bring in a Calico bass and this reel just bulldogs them in. Do yourself a favor and get one of these reels for your inshore or big bait needs.

Comments: Bought this reel for my week long musky trip to Canada. Worked flawlessly. I really like the compact size and the 30 pounds of drag it has. All hook sets were very solid. The break system on this reel is great, I casted anywhere from 1 to 7 ounce lures with no problems. Liked this reel better than my Shimano Tranx 400 and my Diawa Lexas.

Comments: Recently purchased the Penn Fathom 200 LP and I must say the reel is heck of deal for inshore fishing comparing to other high end reels in the market. Paired it with a 7'6 phonix M1 and I hooked up a 4' black tip shark on the first day. The Reel performed beautifully with a smooth drag considering sharks can be very taxing on the drag. More than likely I will purchase the Penn Fathom 300 with a higher speed with a 10' rod as my surf set up.

Comments: The 300 is the best casting reel I've ever picked up.I can throw 3/8oz to 12oz swimbaits, without a problem, it free spools like a mofo.I tested out the magnetic break pitching senkos and flukes and I was VERY impressed.Roped two yellowfins on it fishing 60lb mono leaders @ 20lbs of drag and bow was it's drags smooth as all get out. Also super torquey.Pulls harder then some of my conventional reels.I'm selling my TranX 300 and 400 to get the Fathom 400 now.
