Comments: I use both the Conquest and NRX products. Fish them HARD for everything from chain pickeral, Walley, large & small mouth bass to any thing else that hits. Even used them surf fishing in NC. I have had NO problem sending them in for repairs, and have not been charged. The sensitivity is unmatched and you do pay a premium but I've had nothing but great luck with them. These are the only rods I fish with and would highly recommend them over anything else on the market.period!

Comments: Sweet rod super sensitive however stick to st croix shimano has some of the worst warranty and customer service in the industry. Shimano will make you pay to replace defective rods they don't pick up the phone and drop calls it's a nightmare if your break one stick to at croix they stand behind their products I only buy shimano reels now cause there impossible to break if you keep your gear nice never again would I buy a rod from them

From: Kyle: New York 12/23/21

Comments: I am writing this review to share my experience with Shimano warranty replacement. I purchased the Conquest 842S (not from TW, which was a mistake in retrospect because they may have handled the warranty differently). My 5th time out with this new rod - which performed great up until this point - the rod snapped in 2 below the 6th eyelet while playing a LMB that was approximately 2lbs. I submitted the rod directly to Shimano for warranty replacement on 7/3/20. I heard back from Shimano by email on 7/22 confirming that my rod was eligible for replacement at no cost due to structural defect (no cost apart from my cost to ship it to them). I was not provided with any other information or shipping details at this time. I called today, 8/5/20, to determine the status. After a LONG wait on hold, I was told that the rod was now out of stock until October. Wow, when were you going to tell me this? Shimano was simply going to leave it at that. The rep I spoke with explained that inventory was drastically affected by the pandemic; which I understand. I asked if there was anything else they could do at this point. I asked for a full refund since they could not honor the replacement warranty. The rep offered to swap out to different model in stock (843S) due to the circumstances. Not ideal, but better, I guess, than not having this rod for an entire fishing season after shelling out that kind of money. I asked if they could at least provide expedited shipping. Nope! Ground was all the rep could authorize. So after spending nearly $700 on an enthusiast level, flagship product that Shimano determined was defective, this is how they treat you. Again, and to be clear, Tackle Warehouse had nothing to do with this

Comments: Let me start by saying the components on this rod is second to none. The blank itself is phenomenal and the technology that was put in to this rod makes it a top performer. Now, considering this is G. Loomis/ Shimano flagship rod and a fishing enthusiast's dream, it falls short on the craftsmanship. The cork is a little misshaped, and it doesn't line up to the grip. The epoxy work and threading is not done well at all. Honestly, I've seen $100 rods with better workmanship, and yes, it is that bad. Obviously, cosmetics does not affect the performance a rod, but when a fishing pole retails for $700, I believed every detail should be immaculate. G. Loomis, Shimano, get your quality control in order.

Comments: I own both a 842S & 902S Spinning Rods in the Conquest lineup. Been using them from Neko to Ned rigs these rods have been solid performers. I don't have a NRX to compare side by side with currently to speak on that but they are both different so I don't believe this is simply an updated NRX. I can say they have been a total pleasure to use all day long combo'd with a Stradic 2500HG they are featherlight but still have plenty of power to play fish into the boat. The fit and finish is as you would hope on a rod of this caliber I cannot find any flaws. I really like the Ci4+ reel seats they used vs some of the other Fuji types on some of the other mid level Loomis spinning rods and the cork is quality. I use u40 Cork Seal on all my cork handled rods they still look like new after months of weekly trips fishing all day so protect your investment besides that I recommend a good rod sock to keep any nicks or scratches when rods are stored or transported that way you extend the life of your equipment and is a minor cost vs the frustration and heartbreak of having to warranty your rod from neglect. When you get into this price bracket i know there are some other good options from other rod makers it really comes down to personal preferences but I can say I don't have any issues with my conquest rods as they have preformed flawlessly, I have tried other brands but feel like  Shimano / G Loomis has rods and reels that make me happy to be using.

From: Nate: Oregon 12/19/19

Comments: This rod is ok definitely not as crisp as the nrx and slower taper it honestly feels a feels like a well made 40t villain or something like maybe the price is part craftsmanship part name and part durability I am not saying it is bad rod but it doesn't feel as sweet as an nrx so if you are looking for an upgraded nrx sorry this is a whole different blank and I really believe my nrx is much lighter feeling when fishing  because of the crisp xf tapers.

From: Unknown: 9/26/19

Comments: I agree with Rodney.  Whether or not the price is worth it is based on your passion.  I have several NRXs, 902S, 894C, 852S, 822S, 823S, 873C, and they are fine rods but they could use improvements which I see on the Conquest such as Fuji guides and better tip balance.  I haven't fished with them yet, since it's ice season here on Minnesota, but it's more balanced and not tip heavy like the NRXs.  Sensitivity? I don't know if it gets any better and reaching the limits, except I own a few Daiwa Steez AGS, and when it comes to sensitivity, the AGS steez are hard to beat. Is it worth the MSRP?  To me probably not, but since I got mine at discounted price, I am fine with it.  For 650-675 USD, I can get a Steez AGS and decent reel already.  The real issue I have with the Conquest line right now, is there's no ML power and XFast action options for spinning rods, but those will probably come next year.

From: Blahdeda: Minnesota 1/31/18

Comments: I don't mean to be disrespectful to the reviewers below, but I don't see how a review without actually owning and using a product is meaningful to anyone who is considering buying the product. This is especially true of high end products. Most people don't want to spend this kind of money on a rod and will say that there are alternatives almost as good for far less. I get that. This is a significant investment. There are some others who skip and save in other areas of their lives so they can spend money on their passion. This review is for those people. I have had everything in the Loomis lineup from E6X, IMX, GLX, NRX, and now the Conquest. I thought the NRX was the pinnacle, but the Conquest is better in some significant areas. It is a little lighter, balances better, and has a more comfortable reel seat. The fast tip vs. the extra fast tip on most of the Loomis rods I have owned takes a little getting used to. This ends up making the rods far more versatile. The casting (distance and accuracy) is much improved. They are also very sensitive. I have the 842s and I will be able to use it for a variety of techniques. For me, I had rather have one rod that I love vs. deck full of ones that are just ok.

From: Rodney: Gainesville 12/29/17

Comments: Was able to check out the rods before they were released. I will give you my thoughts: This will be a sensitive rod. Unfortunately, the rod I saw had bad workmanship, which G Loomis is known for with all the NRX issues. The thread wraps on the Conquest looked awful, and the epoxy work was terrible.

From: Rick Davis: NY 10/29/17

Comments: I agree with the other post. This not will not be worth its price. If you are in the market for a rod, look at the Megabass Destroyers or NRXs and save your money.

From: Robert B: Texas 10/27/17

Comments: With the availability of the NRX, new and used, around 300 there is no justification for paying double for a rod that in my opinion will NOT be a improvement in terms of sensitivity. I can guarantee that. From my experience with the NRX rod (NRX 822S, NRX 852C, NRX 853C, NRX 854C) the only rod that I was not impressed with was the 854C. The reason is that it has a slower taper than the 853 and the others. (Fast vs Ex Fast). Just like the Conquest MBRs will be. So, basically do fall for the marketing hype of this rod. Buy 2 of the NRX MBRs for the price of the one Conquest. The only thing the Conquest has going for it is the guide train. No more recoils.
