Continuing the legacy of the Stradic family, the Shimano Stradic FM Spinning Reel is the newest addition to Shimano’s CoreSolid lineup of spinning reels and showcases reel technologies passed down from Shimano’s flagship spinning reels. With the addition of InfinityXross technology, the Stradic FM Spinning Reel delivers unequaled gear durability and synergy by extending the gear tooth horizontally to distribute load across the gear tooth more evenly. This complements cold-forged HAGANE gearing for added strength with the refinement of MicroModule II for the ultimate reeling experience. Internally, it also features InfinityDrive that creates a light rotation and increased cranking power with the reel is under heavy loads.
Backed by a Duracross Drag system, the Stradic FM Spinning Reel provides the smooth performance of felt with up to 10 times the durability. X-Protect water-repellent coating and a specially designed water-channeling system ensures a lifetime of dependable performance by stopping water penetration in key areas without adding a heavy rotational feel. More than I thought I would getI want to echo the other five star reviews SE on here most of them. I'll say the similar thing where it's the smooth as silk and strong when you need it to be strong. The way this thing cast light line and handles light line is amazing! Because I don't get that feeling that I get with other reels when I use light line. Fear that I'm going to have tangle issues or break off or issues with the bale closing too soon and my lure flying across the lake.basically all the things that happen a lot of times if you don't have a really high-end rod when you're trying to fish finesse for bass. When I purchase this I paired it up with a megabass whippet. It felt amazing. I really think that you could have blindfolded me and told me it was at $500 real and I would have believed you. So when I read these other comments when people give it low ratings and they're saying that the plastic's melting or it's really loud and all things that normally come from poor care. Obviously I don't know exactly what those rails went through to make those anglers so upset at this real. They could give it a one star until everybody that they're trash. They're not trash. You get every penny you pay for a value out of this real plus some. I'm really roughing my gear now on purpose but I fish a lot of rip rap from the bank and from the kayak. I don't have a place. I can set it where it's nice and safe when I go fishing and you know the downside of that is that I do go through some gear. You know I've actually fallen and broken rods that way. So I feel like if these things are going to happen and they're true about this reel then why aren't they happening to me because I know I'm hard on gear. This reel is made zero noise. I used it on a couple different rods now and it performs great on all of them . The drag is nice. I don't feel like I have to panic about making sure my drag is going to work right like I do with a lot of my baitcasters and and some of my the other spin casts. I just want to get more details about these one-star ratings because that it just seems more like user error than it does manufacturer. I could be wrong. Like I said I have no clue with these guys fish where they fish, how they fish and how they carry their gear but when someone tells me they're real is boiling and melting. That sounds like that grill's been sitting out in the sun and if it's making a lot of noise, it's probably been fully submerged in saltwater and for more than just a couple seconds. And probably often. Those what I'm getting at is if you have any kind of practical care. Whenever you use your fishing rod then you should have no problem ever with this reel when you're using it for the purpose it's used for, which is pretty much catching bass on soft plastics and maybe even small heart baits works for both of them. You want to cast a spool out so you can brag to your friends. Spool one of these up with some sm smackdown 10 lb with or without a leader. I use a liter but some people don't. But man you can cast this baby so far.
Best reel!This reel is phenomenal, it is so smooth and it can handle anything you put it through and this line of reel has a solid variety of sizes. This reel is totally worth the money!
Perfect reelThis stradic is build very well it is very smooth and is very strong, it’s my favorite reel for bass fishing but you can do so much with this reel and even take it to the salt water, this is definitely worth the investment.
Phenomenal ReelI guess this reel is proof that a company can make a bulletproof product and someone will still need to complain about something. I’ve had countless Stradic reels and used them for salt and fresh water fishing without even a hint of an issue. You would be hard pressed to find a better quality reel at this price point. This thing is smooth as silk yet built like a tank with precision performance.
A must haveThis is the best spinning reel out there for the money. I have 6 stradics in different sizes and never a problem. This reel will last you a lifetime. Light, smooth and powerful.
Static FMSolid reel. Used a handful of times since Christmas. No issues. Good quality, excellent drag system pairs well with the Star rod that was purchased.
Worst Shimano product I have owned.Shimano should be ashamed. I own four 3000s and they are all noisy as heck. It's not the bearings; I've had them checked out at a Shimano service center. The problem is poor quality and machining tolerances. The chrome plastic is also bubbling, an issue I have not even had on $20 reels.
Hands down one of the bestAfter a year on the road fishing in saltwater and fresh on and off and then for the last 2 months I have been fishing huge smallies consistently almost everyday I would recommend this reel 100% to anyone fishing salt or fresh.
BEST VALUE FOR YOUR MONEYI have 1 FM, 2 FL, 1FK, 1 STRADIC CI4 and 2 Vanford. I also have a Diawa Ballistic and Pfluger patriarch. They are great reals and you can't go wrong with any of them. As far as I am concerned the FM is hands down the best for any $200 reel. I would put on par with a Stella and Certate. May a pinch heavier but damn near as smooth. But hundreds less. I work in a bait and tackle shop and get to play with most of the $300 reels on down. And the STRADIC FM is my favorite and the few guys that I have convinced to buy one have comeback and said they are amazed at the smoothness and balance of cranking and drag. And a couple guys have bought 1 or 2 more.
Amazing.Im shocked that these are not all 5 stars. Took this reel in a 3000 series to Canada for a week long trip 14-15 hours on the water each day, thousands of casts, and cramped in a small boat with two other people. This reel took a beating both catching large Pike and being beat to death in a cramped boat. Along with this reel i bought a brand new Nasci 3000 series for my second pole, i was shocked at how much I gravitated to the Stradic setup.
Yes Im aware this reel is double the cost of the Nasci but all the shops were recommending the nasci as being a reel that performs with those twice its price. While the nasci is good and i have no complaints . This reel is on another level. The line management system is insane. Can reel in slacked line with no worry of birds nests or knotted up line. It’s smooth and the drag system works well. I have nothing bad to say. I was skeptical about spending the money but I’m sure glad i did and it is not that often now that i get to say that these days.
