Irod 804This is probably the best rod at its price point for glides. I used the 804 for glide baits and topwater in the 4-6oz range. The rod handles the deps 250 very well, loading through the blank on bomb casts and when you hook a fish the rod is a true moderate fast. I landed striper up to 20lbs without issue. The only "problem" is that the rod has micro guides and does not do great with a braid to leader no matter how small your leader knot is. Its not a huge issue but if running leader I would choose a different rod.

irod genisis lll swimbait rodi was looking for my first swimbait rod for a good price. i looked and felt a few different options and this one felt the best! i got the 8ft xh. and i paired it with a diawa lexa 300. although it is an xh, (rated 3-10oz) i’d say its more of a heavy. i usually throw 2-4 ish oz and that’s the sweet spot. it maxes out a little above 6oz. which doesn’t bother me because i’m not looking to throw anything above a deps 250. but i can also throw 1 oz baits no problem with just a harder cast. i also threw a 1/2 spinner bait for a few days and i could easily cast it 40 feet. this rod is extremely versatile. it is very parabolic so i’d stay to trouble hook baits. however i have used single hook baits with no issues. it is a very good budget swimbait rod. i also accidentally got it caught up in my bike spikes while i was riding to a pond. and the rod foam got dented a bit and scratched the rod but no performance damage. i was extremely suprised at the durability. i’ve landed about 7ish fish so far and it performs extremely well. definitely recommend
